Do you ever go to start a discussion on here and realize you don't have a category in your interests that it can fit under? Do you go with "general" or just choose a different one? Most of the time I can't be bothered to put my discussions in a "fitting" category. I like to mix it up... I never use "general" though, mainly because it is all the way at the bottom of the page.....

That could explain where I'm going wrong here, almost all of mine are put in General, as I understood the only choice you were allowed was General or one of your chosen interests, which means having to add another interest everytime I want to start a discussion on a different subject, which can be a nusiance, is there any other way to choose a subject without having to add a new interest?

I think you have to add the interest to post in the subject. When I can't be bothered by doing this, I just pick something else, usually random :P

Thanks for that, I think it could be fun trying to make up some subjects for using in the discussion.

I usually hit general, just because there's so many boxes to choose from and I'm in a hurry, lol.

I think that the pay is better if you use the different topics other than general, but I'm not positive.

Well, this discussion probably would have fit best under the "Mylot" heading; instead it appears under "Bacterial Vaginosis," which I would think is a pretty unlikely category!

I always try to start my discussions in the right or fitting category of interests. There's a way you can start your own interest category too. Just edit interests adding whatever you wish in an area. I've seen some wierd ones. I don't think I've used "general" yet though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Yeah, I know you can make your own and all, but by the time I am about to post a new discussion I don't want to have to go all the way back to interests and edit them. It takes too long for me (lazy)

I don't put my discussion in general category as the chance of getting an answer really reduces.I always find a category to put my discussion into.If not then i put it in the people or life category.

I tend to put it in general discussions because i do like to open the discussion as soon as i get the idea. However, i must admit sticking it in an unrelated category does apeal too blessed be

I have a hard time thinking of a discussion. When I do it is usally a catagory that is already on the board. I have never used general myself. I do not start discussions because I don't seem to make discussion that people are interested in. I only get one or two post to each of my discussion. I have decided that it is just easier for me to post to my friends discussions. This helps both of us out on here. I also have problems with tagging. I really do not know what tags to put on my posts. I try to put at least five tags and I use pretty much the same ones all the time.

I am not much bothered about the interest group of a particular discussion. Most of my discussions are responded by my friends and I too respond to discussions not based upon the interest group, but friends and e mail alerts. However I have started discussions under the general catogory once or twice.

If I get an idea for a discussion, I tend to look through the categories to see which one it would fit before I write anything. If I can't find one there, I will find one that is appropriate and add it to my interests. :-)

I use the catagory that fits the closest to the catagory I am looking for. I wanted one on Doctors appointmets, there is not one or health. I forget what I used. I do not bather looking at what topic discussions are in when I answer a discussion. I answer most of my discussions that are started by my firends. I do not have time to look at any others.

I dont have very many interests so if I start something and I dont have it in my interest group, I'll start it in one set up for all occasions that interest group is bacterial vaginosis. This covers all topics, oh I see you do the same thing, COOL! Peace, Totty

I just post the new discussion- I pick an interest and put it there- I think it’s a pain- sometimes I use general but others I just pick one that looks ok- I don’t start as many discussions as I used to- I love it when someone puts in some wacky interest- and asks if you want to add that interest-

i never use general. usually there is some topic that is related. if not, i revert to 'life' as my general catch-all bucket.

I use "life" and "people" a lot of the time if I don't have an appropriate topic to put a discussion in. Those seem to be pretty popular topics, so I figure a good number of people will see them. They work really well for discussions that don't fit easily into a category, as well. :)

I do try to put my discussions in the proper category, but sometimes I have to put it in a general discussion, as I'm not sure where to put some topics.

If in case I don't find a category that fits my discussion. I just post it under life. Because the category LIFE sells well here. Plus almost all that we do involves life. The category GENERAL is almost no where to be found. You're right, it's almost on the bottom most of the time. But I guess there is a link here where in you can ask myLot administrators to add a category. I'll give you that link as soon as I find it again.
