What type of cook are you?

Are you the person who turns things down and lets them cook slowly...running back and forth to the kitchen among the million of other tasks that you are trying to complete? OR are you the type of cook who stands over your food...cooking it as quickly as possible? OR are you the type of person who plans the timing of all of the necessary ingredients so that everything is done at the same time? I am kind of a combination of all of these....LOL I failed to mention the numerous times that I have to wash my hands during one meal...LOL AND the couple of cigarettes that I frequently smoke while meals are cooking (although I do not smoke WHILE cooking...ie...not standing there with a cigarette in hand over my food)...I felt that was a necessary bit of information...LMAO So, my fellow myLottian's....what type of cook are you?

I clean up after myself while I am cooking. So I often am washing dishes or putting away ingredients while the food is simmering.

I think I am a little bit of both (also taking breaks to go smoke while stuff simmers - my mother laughs and calls me peggy bundy when I do that) Some things I have everythign ready and out and good to go and other things that I make I am back and forth and hoping I don't burn it while I am preoccupied elsewhere. Usually though I think I fly by the seat of my pants more than anything because of all the people who are always around - my sis, niece, boyfriend, other family, the dogs, etc...how I manage to get stuff done with people coming and going and underneath my feet amazes me. I have also noticed after I am all done and before I eat while everyone else is starting to dig in I have to go out and sit down on the patio to smoke as though I just won some kind of major battle, even if all I cooked was hamburger helper!

I love the Bundy's....Married with Children is one sit-com that I truly enjoyed...LOL Sounds like we do things alike here...there are always people coming and going at my home...grandchildren running in and out and their parents back and forth too...craziness rules supreme at my house...LOL

I too am a mixture of all three. Normally I like to have all of my preparation/chopping etc out of the way first, atleast half an hour before I'd like to serve the meal, but if there is other stuff that needs to be done, I can become quite manic, rushing all over the house, making sure things are clean and stirred and changing the music etc. Then there's the handy phone calls in the middle of boiling something, that high pitched whistle and sizzle that sends you running, dropping the phone and frantically avoiding burning yourself while you turn the heat down. =P Gosh i love cooking!

Ok, I'll 'fess up to this one my friend I'm a won't cook can't cook type! I hate cooking, I have been fortunate that I have had people who have cooked for me in the past and so I don't bother. I am very impatient when it comes to food and there is no way I'd slave over a hot stove or in a hot kitchen for hours. I want my food like NOW! Patience for a lot of things in life but definitely NOT food...

I am not a good cook at all. Most meals I do cook are simple and easy and usually done within 30 minutes at most. I am one that stands there and tries to get it all done in one sitting. If I leave the kitchen to do something else then come back to it, if often ends up being burnt or something going wrong with it LOL I am a lousy cook, but my family still eats my food hahaha!

Hi, i am the kinds who would do many things together in the kitchen, i would keep a thing to cook on slow fire, which i chop other things for the other dish and along side boil or cook another third dish too. My cooking is over for the day within an hour , making about 2-3 dishes. i plan ahead and so my work is rather fast, and no i dont keep running around as that wastes my time a lot, making my kitchen work extend to 2 hours instead of the 1 hour thats normal for me. Yes, in between i do manage to squeeze out time to keep checking on my kids too, who are doing their home tasks and keeping an eye on their studies.

I do all three, but it depends on the amount of time I have. I find myself standing over the food most times, except during simmer. However, it seems that I'm becoming more and more multi-task based. Well at least my cooking quality hasn't suffered.

I do not cook very often, but when I do I am quite organized. It is the only time I am organized actually. I will separate the ingredients and put all of them in front of me. I will clean everything before I even finish cooking. As for the food, I am able to cook just a few things.
