why its hard to get many response in serious topic?

Hello plumwish. I think that it is because it is time-and-brain-comsuming to give a nice and decent response to a serious discussion that we can get fewer responses about serious topics. I think that you would agree with me. hehe

Hi plumwish07, I know what you mean. I either get no response or a sarcastic response. Sometimes if you reword the discussion it gets attention too. I did that, I had a serious discussion and no one replied, so I reworded it and it worked..

I think only few people here likes to reply serious topic and like to waste time in thinking seriously about the discussions.Every one is serching discussions which is very easy to reply.

I never get so much response on any topic i always put it on the general topic. I don't know the reason.Sometimes when you just put something alot people agree to and not agree to will give you more responses (most negative topics) but maybe it also depends on how many friends you have on my lot i think i don't know the reason. Maybe it's been a discussion before.I really don't have a clue. I mostly get 2 or 3 responses.

I think some of the other responses are mostly right and it is because many people do not want to spend the time and effort to answer a more serious topic. It is much quicker for them to answer a trivial topic and move on. I have noticed this also and been disppointed that my most serious topics never get any responses at all while they are the ones I have put the most effort in starting. While a high star rating is nice, it should not be what determines discussions or responses. Afterall, ratings are supposed to be based on how good a response is and not on whether it agrees or disagrees with the discussion starters views. I try to follow that and can only hope that others do also.

Hello plumwish07! Well, I think posters who really want to increase their earnings would choose topics from general discussions. Me? I don't really mind. They don't pay you well. If it's something interesting, I don't keep quiet. Have a nice day!

Serious topics require more time and effort to respond to. When I read a serious topic, I will have a certain amount of response that is quickly put down. Beyond that, it will take some thought and consideration to give a real response. In mylot there is room for all kinds of topics, I guess! djbtol

Who knows??? If you ever come up with the magic formula please share it!!! I have put up posts that I thought would generate a really good cross section of responses yet have been very, very wrong.... And yet I have seen some completely inane topics (in my opinion)that have attracted many responses. I guess I just stay true to what interests me and hope for the best!

Its becoz people like to spend a good time here at mylot, not spend time scratching their heads to get a response.. So, it wud be good for u to start discussions in general topics, everyday topics.. That wud definately get more responses.. All the best...

Well, don’t feel disappointment, because it happens normally that people prefer to give response to matter immediate concern for them: I have seen and noticed that so many women responding to any recipe like things immediately because of daily process they are concerned to do and perform well! So it is related with directly day to day life! When the serious topic is there and if liking is also there then few persons will surely respond to the matter! But if the serious matter is really demanding much more logical thinking then very few person will respond to that! At the same time who are really interested in serious matter and when they will find that here is their type of discussion has put then they will respond immediately and mostly they will come and look for that ID’s posting to see that is there any serious discussion has put on? But such responders are really very few but it is ok considering that their responses have the real stuff and right perspectives as well as with truthfulness! So you just look for such persons who really cares to respond such kind of posting and with detailed and logical ways! There is possibility to get some new ideas and new point of views from them and I think it will provide you satisfaction! Otherwise you will try out to put the serious subject/ topics to put in a journalistic way means put it elaborately, so people will get the main thought by reading process and then able to respond! I know here few persons have done such kind of writing process and getting good responses! One has to select some time between writing for classes and masses and few writers know this very well because of a long practice and learning through writing continuously! And yet still there are writers who knows these things but always follow their on way of writing with their own frames and fragrance because they knew what they mean by that and what they want to do! You can choose your way and select your own good topics and go ahead with writing and practice. There is no need to regrets, right?

Plum, you see it requires lots of thinking to post a reply to serious topic. Most of the members feel easy and comfortable to simple discussions. I also find that there are less members who take interest in posting their responses to serious topics. There are few and they write exceptionally well on serious topics. I love serious topics and I feel more satisfied while replying to a serious discussion (provided I can write somethin on that) instead of an easy and simple discussion.

Maybe people are here much more for fun like for solving serious problems.Or they are scared to share their opinion.I have seen many people complaining about a lot of people here being rude and they just don't want to argue anymore.But I think it is more the first one.Some people just don't feel like writing about serious topic, when they have enough problems in their own life.

I feel People respond to discussions which they have knowledge about or can relate to in their everyday life . So sometimes , even a good topic lacking these attributes may go without enough responses.

Maybe it is not a serious issue to some people it is only serious to you! You see seriousness is subjective. what maybe serious to me could be trivial to you and vise versa.

I am not one to avoid serious issues unless of course I have not had the experience on the subject.

I think because people do not want to actually think about what they are writing, I suppose they like nice easy discussions to respond to so they can do many instead of one serious response..

Plumwish07, I also experienced the same. One time, I posted something about "cell regeration" and I got no response until now. Probably, it's because that topic can only be responded by a skin expert. So I guess you're right, when a discussion posted needs some thinking then respondents tend to ignore them and look for discussions that are easier to answer.

I had those problems when i posted something that i thought would be interesting i got a few replies.Maybe people want something simple,something not so serious.
