Hello for me. Here is what I do: A immediately deposit 10% of my paycheque to a separate savings account. Then use the remaining balance to pay bills and for months budget. Or if you do not have enough money to save. Try to thinks of ways on how to generate extra income. Like what we are doing now, you can get paid by posting here in MYLOT. You can save what you earn here. :) It does not matter if you save amount. Its still a savings :)

That totally depends on what you are doing now....are you already being frugul? Or do you go shopping on whims? I only shop when I really need something then make a list and buy only what is on that list. Once in a while I treat myself to something but not very often. I find entertainment at home so I am not spending lots in restaurants or in movie theaters. If you check with your library they have lots of free movies you can check out and entertain both yourself and friends and family. There are tons of ways to cut back. Good luck!

I shop on whims and impulse! I spend a lot of money on really stupid things and then regret the purchase, lol. Thanks for your helpful suggestions!

I have an online high interest savings account, and I deposit $20 a month into it on the first of the month. Also I make a lot of casseroles, we only eat out when we are on vacation, and on Christmas, Father and Mothers Day, and birthdays. I use cold water when I do the wash, I have only two magazine subscriptions, we got the all in one cable package instead of buying them separately. We seldom eat desserts, we keep the blind pulled so we are not heating all of Winnipeg. I used Olive Oil for cooking, I heat the pan up and I drain the rest in to a jar, that I will later use to make mayonnaise rather than buying a jar of. I shop at Walmarts. I use baking soda to clean my ceramic top, I use vinegar on a damp cloth to clean my computer screen. I have more but will stop now.

Well I have 5 different markets very close to my apartment (from 20 to 50m) so I go and check the offers in each of them at least once a week. So I know what is cheap in every of those stores and if they are on the discount I buy few of them so that I wouldn't have to buy them for some time. I also try too eat out as rare as possible because it's much cheaper to eat at home than to eat out. And I don't buy stuff that I don't need. It was pretty difficult in the beginning because when I get in the store I need everything that I like but I made myself believe that I don't need some stuff like a lot of candies or juice or coca cola.

Lately it is all we can do to save our change. There was a time when we were able to save it all year and use it towards a vacation. Now, we are dipping into it when the gas tank needs to be filled.
