We are almost at the end of September. Are you getting ready for Christmas yet? If you are, admit and tell me what you are doing. Is it at the point where it is just in your mind or are you looking at thing that remind you of Christmas or something else? I am thinking about it. We have several parties at Christmas time. That is what I am working on organizing now.

Santa & Frosty - What a cute pair!
Hi Yestheypaymetodothis! Right now my only thoughts are to get through Thanks Giving first as I live in Canada and Thanks Giving is in a few weeks. Secondly I will need to get through Hallowe'en, and then I'm sure Christmas will be on my mind after that. I always try not to wait too last minute as I love to bake goodies, and don't want to leave that till the last minute. Also I never ever wait till the last minute to get all of my Christmas shopping done either. I have been fishing for ideas as what to get friends and family for Christmas though so it is in the back of my mind somewhat!

Yes, I am all set but with 3 big holidays in such a short time like that it is kind of hard to be ready. They always seem to sneak up on you. I'm sure I'll make it through though! Thanks, I like my purple eye tooz! Take care!

Gingerbread House - My niece made this for me for Christmas. It was too pretty to eat.
I've been trying to fish out hints on what my friends and family might like to find under the Christmas tree so that I can do my shopping early. I've also been thinking of what kind of cookies to make that I can freeze ahead of time so I don't have to do everything the last minute.

Love the picture of the gingerbread house. I usually make up to 60 regular sized gingerbread houses Christmas for homeless children. We love it!!! Sometimes I like to make a basket of baked goods for gifts. Do you ever do that?

That's such a nice idea. It must have taken you a long time to make those gingerbread houses. I can imagine those kids with happy faces.

I have just started thinking about Christmas. I want to go through my decorations and get out the lights that I want to put outside. I figure we should put them up when the weather is nice so we are not out there frezzing our butts off.

Christmas tree - Picture of a Christmas Tree
This Christmas will be a little hard for me and my family since mom passed away this past February, so it will be a little sad. The rest of the family will be together so that should help. Usually by July, I'm done with all my shopping, but not this year. I haven't even started, my sisters want to exchange names, so we'll do that, but not until Thanksgiving. I am already trying to mentally prepare for it so that it won't be too difficult. My sister will hosting a brunch on Christmas eve, so I need to plan a Christmas dinner for our house for Christmas day.

I have not prepared for Christmas yet. I think I need to do a lot of things before Christmas. Like putting a Christmas decoration inside and outside of our house. I should pack gifts for my nephews, niece and parents and sisters. And the most important thing is to prepare our inner self for the Yuletide season. Advance Merry Christmas to you.

I have been looking at some of the newer toys that are out for my son, and neices and nephews, but that is about it. I haven't really thought much about it really, just trying to get some ideas. But, with so many kids to buy for, I really should get started on purchasing some of them so that I am not out a bunch of money at Christmas time!

When I was still working for Avis it was on party after another, and up until 5 years ago when Joep still had a lot of contracts it was also one after another but thank heavens it is no longer the case, too much of a good thing isn't that much fun after a while.

Hi there. After every christmas dinner or during, my family talk and arrange the following years dinner and specifics, this stops us from rushing around or going mad trying to organise things, because its already being talked about and arrange at the last dinner, we talk about the venue, the foods, times, we all just take pots of our favourite foods, salads, meats, pastas, rice dishes, puddings, veges, stews and boiled, baked, fried, or roasted foods, unless we've all opted in for a simple BBQ, which is easy, and great, this way we all bring our favourite big bowls of salads... We always have way too much food at our christmas dinners, therefore everyone gets to take food home, but then I suppose its better having way too much then not enough...

He!l no! It's September! We usually get ready for Christmas at the beginning of December... even if decorations and goodies (like Christmas food and sweets) are already sold after Halloween (well a week before like last year) and we don't celebrate Halloween! I mean we have docos for Halloween and Christmas in the same perion in shops... and it gets me nauseus at first like last year I started to hate all the buzz but then with the real Day approccing I stopped being ill... That's what I hate about Christmas, it's only a business...

Hello yestheypayme2dothis, As you pointed out the end of September is quickly approaching. It is time to start thinking about Christmas. I have 17 grandchildren and they have begun to make their suggestions of their desires for Christmas. This has started me thinking about where to start. What I usually do is write down their suggestions and start looking. Upon finding something, I bring it home, wrap it up, and scratch their name off the list. It is fun when they come over and ask if they can see their gift. Of course, I tell them no, not until Christmas. Then the questions start. What did you get me? What color is it? Is it bigger than a bread box? Oh, what fun!! Once I get all the grands taken care of, then I move on to my own children, and friends. We have a Christmas tradition of having breakfast. All families get up in their own homes and open their gifts. Then off to grandmas for breakfast and gifts. The men of the family do the cooking, and women will do the clean-up. Everyone eats before opening gifts. The families are free to go anywhere they want too afterwards, or if staying for dinner, plans are made ahead of time so preparations are under way. Our Christmas is very mellow and low-key, but New Year's is something else!!! Happy posting..

I think is too soon to be ready for Christmas. December is the best month for getting ready for Christmas. It,s ver silly to think what are you doings for Christmas when we are at the end of September. But like you are thinking about it I desaire you the best for Christmas.

I guess it depends on what you do for Christmas. I normally have almost 60 orphans to think about for Christmas, and I assure you, I cannot get it done in a few days in December.
