Do you listen to music during the day while you are working? I always have something playing softly in the background. It seems to make my day go faster. I love southern gospel and praise and worship music.

Up until recently most of the homes that I work in are quiet. They don't play music. On a couple of occasions I entered the home and heard music playing. They were about to shut it off when I told them to leave it on. Listening to music while I am working makes the hours go by a quickly. I sing along with the tunes if they are ones that I am familiar with.

I have hinted to people that they should play their music once in a while. When I am cleaning and find their collection of music I comment on the ones I enjoy listening to. Few have made the effort to play their music. If they did they would find it relaxing and uplifting too.

I fully agree. i have begun to listen to Pandora internet radio here in my office. I have several different styles of stations that I've created. I go back and forth between them during the day, or sometimes my mood is such that I will leave it on one particular genre all day long.

I love to walk into someone else's office in my building and hear them listening to music. It's very comforting. I think that soft music in a doctor's office is soothing. I don't know why more don't do it.

I work at home, writing on my novel or on mylot, and I find that music distracts me, that is unless it has something to do with what I am writing. Also my husband does not like the same type of music I love, classical. Since I am writing a Christian fantasy and there are medieval people in it, I should be listening to Gregorian Chants or something like tralalas.

I too like classical. I can't write in the quiet. If there isn't something going, then I hear every little noise that is made. The dog barking, cars going down the highway, a door slamming next door, the neighbor's rooster crowing in the middle of the day. (Stupid chicken.)

I am in and out of various work locations between two jobs. At the school different teachers play different types of background music. At my residential support job they play a lot of country music.

It's kind of interesting to go into our classrooms. Many of the teachers have music playing softly. Our 6th grade teacher is probably the oldest of our teachers in terms of age, and her class is always filled with classic rock. The kids love it.

Where do you work for? My kids like relient k. I tend to move towards praise and worship and southern gospel. Though I love Stephen Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith both. Then I'm a closet Rascal Flatts fan! Ok...maybe I'm way out of the closet, because I would kill for RF tickets!

I work as a lifeguard at an indoor pool. I mostly listen to yelling, screaming and splashing water. I wish we had music maybe people wouldnt scream as much then.

That is an excellent idea. Especially if you have little ones. Perhaps there is a suggestion box at your place of employment. Where is that by the way. I love to swim, and we don't have any place to swim here that is indoors.

yup, I do listen to music when at work. Especially when I'm feeling sleepy after lunch, I need to listen to my favourite tunes!

I have to put on something really fast and peppy when I'm feeling tired. I usually lean towards manheim steamroller or the Trans siberian Orchestra. I have several of their cd's and love them both. I'm so eclectic when it comes to music. It just really depends on my mood. I also like Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney.

No, cause if I had music going I couldn't hear my client calling. As it is she's always calling when I'm washing dishes & stuff.

aw. My mom was a home health nurse for many years. She had one client that was always calling just as she began to count out pills or was on the phone making her report to the doctor's office. This poor woman didn't have any family so my mother would always try to visit with her at lunch time or at the end of the day so that she could spend a few extra minutes.
