Do you have a schedule or do you change things up?

When it comes to meal planning I mean. I myself do not plan ahead or get things scheduled in advance when it comes to my kitchen, I kind of fly by the seat of mypants. I mean, I know what's in there and the possiblities it has come meal time, but I don't actually make a menu for the week. COnsidering all of the other things I list ahead and plan out, it's kind of odd that I don't plan thiss too!! Anyways...I was wondering who all makes like a weekly or monthly menu and then goes by it. Does anyone do this? My mom tried one time when we were young, but gave up a few days into it cuase our schedules were all so out of whack and crazy. Just curious...

I'm a planner and a list maker. I like to write out menus for the entire week. I also write my self a list every morning of what I need to accomplish that day. This helps me to stay focused and get things done.

I'm a total list maker too! It's just weird that the only thing I DON"T list is the meal plan for the week - I guess we all have to draw the line somewhere? But yeah, I have a list a mile long for each day, each week, each month, stuff to do by the end of the year, I have lots of other lists! Good luck staying focused! I know I need all the help I can get!

I try to plan a daily meal. Weekly is a waste of time. I keep a bunch of frozen meats handy and choose the night before what I will serve. Even then our tastes can change or we get home later and don't want to wait for something to cook and whip up a sandwich and soup.

See, I think that is exactly what I do! I hate the days when we change our minds, cause then whatever I have defrosted usually ends up getting forgotten about in the back of the fridge until you can smell the soured meat! That's always disappointing!

We make a list of meals, and buy the ingredients for certain meals, and then each day we just make whatever we feel like out of the preplanned meals. Sometimes with leftovers or other things we make out of the ingredients we end up with extra meals, and then we just don't grocery shop as often.

That's a good idea! I just seem to do it in my head!
