Guess the controversial novel, Scarlett, was not enough several years ago. Now there's a new release based on Gone With the Wind. It's called Rhett Butler's People by Donald McCaig. This novel is touted as an "authorized" novel based on Gone With the Wind, covering the years 1843 through 1874. The New York Times wrote: "Readers will get inside Rhett's head as he meets and courts Scarlett in one of the most famous love affairs of all time." Are you going to read it? What are your thoughts on this? Did you read Scarlett when it was published?

Yup I'll put it on my list. I also read Scarlett...and had a collectors copy of Gone with the Wind. The book is timeless and I love reading it over and over......I loved Rhett....I have to read the book!

I did read Scarlett when it was published. I will most likely read this new book as well. I will have to make a determination on the book myself. It sparks my interest that is for sure. Hopefully it will be a good read. I have always wanted to get into Rhett Butlers head and figure out why he was like he was.

It will be interesting to read from Rhett's point of view. Let me know what you think of the book.

I have Gone With The Wind and Scarlett. I don't like Scarlett that much, honestly. It just seemed like an attempt to make money of GWTW friends, and I fell for it. I've ordered the Rhett Butler book, but haven't received it yet. I'll try to remember to come back here and tell you what I think after I have read it.
