Hi!If its alot of work and costs more to make than actually buy it,then i would definitley would buy the cake,ha,ha.Its already made,no mess and extra time and effort not wasted trying to perfect it,lol.I just bought a black forest cake the other day for $7.50,not expensive at all, because i figured it to cost about 3-4 dollars more just to make and the time of making the 3 layers of cherry jelly, grated chocolate sprinkles on top and the icing/dream whip swirls, hahahahaha, yummy!!You can be sure i stuffed myself!lol:)

I like to make them myself that way I can make the house smell good while it is baking. You can't beat the smell of a freshly baked cake.

I love baking but sometimes buying a cake is even less expensive than buying all the ingredients to bake a cake!!! Also, if you just buy a cake, you don't know how much sugar, butter etc they've put in it so I tend to feel less guilty!!! : )

i use to bake a long time ago. it will take you the whole day to prepare and bake, scatter all the pans and ingredients in the kitchen and only less than an hour to eat it. the only thing i like then was to eat the uncooked cake, cake batter. electric bill will be so high. without the mess, i'd rather now buy the cake.

I think I buy cakes mostly. Very rarely only I will bake one as it is a very time consuming process to do baking and then prepare it and have it.

I prefer to bake one usually so that I can make it healthy and vegan and so I'll know exactly what is in it. Rarely, I'll get one from a tasty local vegan bakery.

I like various types of cakes and I also had learnt how to bake cake before. I fond that to bake cake rather time consuming and would make the kitchen messy. Very often I failed to make the kind of cake that I needed even though I had followed the recipe closely. Then I gave up trying anymore. I prefer to buy whatever cake I like from the bakery. I could get any delicious and attractive cakes without any labor and time but just to pay a reasonable amount of money for them.

I prefer homemade cakes, because then I get to decide the flavors, whether to tweak the recipe and I get to make the frosting the way I want it. Store bought cakes overdo it with overly sweet frostings, and there just ins't as much variety. But for birthdays, we let the kids make the choice of homemade or bakery cakes. sometimes I win and sometimes the bakery wins

i can't bake cake. I don't have a reliable oven. And I don't each too much cake. one piece is good for me, so i'll buy cake instead of baking them, that way i can choose more flavors incase i have my cake binge attack.

I am a no-no when it comes to baking. But if I am given a chance, i will definitely would like to learn to do how. So right now, I will rather buy first than can not eat at all. lol Actually, it is always part of my menu when I dine in. Cake is my first choice of dessert.

I like to bake cakes, but they don't look as pretty as the cakes from bakeries. So it would depend on the event.

Chocolate cake - I'd prefer to make a cake instead of buying one
I'd rather make one.... store bought cakes are good, and for special occasions I will buy one because they are decorated so much nicer than I can do, but I prefer making my own when it's just for us... Or, if I need a cake to take someplace, I'd feel weird buying one! I'd rather take one that was homemade.

I only prefer cakes baked at home by my mother as those are the best I have ever had and other than being tasty i know for sure that it is made by ingrediants of best quality which I am not sure while buying a cake from a shop.

I really enjoy baking, so if I have the time I like to bake and decorate the cake on my own. Though as much as I enjoy baking cakes, I also know that my skills do indeed have limits. So basically, if the occasion calls for a very large or very fancy cake, I will go out and buy one. The funny thing about me and cake baking is that I love to bake cakes, but I hate to eat them. I don't know why, but I never really cared for cake. Oh well, thank goodness there are people like you out there who are willing to eat all the cakes I make.

I prefer to bake my own cakes. I will buy one though if I am pressed for time. I like baking though and enjoy decorating cakes for every occasion.

I prefer baking my own cake. I think they taste better fresh from the oven than from a store. I love to bake just about anything though.
