My car got totaled

on Thursday night out at my husband's work site. Thing of it is, nobody was in either vehicle at the time that it happened!!! The guy that was driving the grain truck couldn't get it started so he ran back inside the shop and when he come back out his truck was smashing into my car and dragging it 20ft from where it started. He forgot to take it out of gear before getting back out and it rolled down the hill. Now we have been without our car for 4 days now, but we had to go and get a rental car because ours is completely not driveable anymore. So now instead of needing to buy one vehicle in a week's time we are going to have to try and find two of them. Fun fun. Thanks for letting me vent about this, I feel somewhat better. :)

Thank you for the response. My mom called me last night to let me know that the insurance adjuster totalled the car for $2900, which still leaves me with the loan, but it could have been worse. Good fortune has somewhat fallen into our hands as their is a lady at my hubbies work that is selling a car for $400 and then my mom found another car for $2000, so hopefully everything will pan out just fine in the end. :)

Thank God no one was hurt atleast. But why two cars, I didn't get that-did I miss something here. Did you have insurance for the vehicles may be thats the silver lining. I think there must be something goo that has to come out of it,just try and see what turns up later on. And let us know too.

Yes we are very grateful that no one was hurt in the accident. Yes we both had insurance and they did pay for the car. The thing about the two vehicles is that we were already looking for another vehicle for my husband as we both work different hours and we needed to be able to have transportation for both of us. Everything worked out just fine as we found two different vehicles and are now driving them back and forth to work. :)

Wow, that is so awful. When it rains it pours. At least their insurance should help to buy another one. They should also pay for your rental. Sorry you are having to go through this. It can be so stressful.

Front end of wrecked car - This is the front end of my wrecked car
Thank you for the sympathy.:) Always nice to get that. Anyways, the insurance is waffling on whether it was necessary or not to rent a car, but I will not end up paying for it as my car is very undriveable how it is. I also will post a pic of the front of the car to show you. Have a great day!

Sorry to hear about your car total, Hopefully this guy had insurance. I have gone through this before a couple of years ago, and had to obtain a car loan which I am paying now. Good luck.

Yes, it does, but things are working out ok right now. We will hopefully get two different vehicles instead of just the one, so that is a good thing. :)

Sorry to hear about this incident. But by God's grace at least no one was in the car when it happened. I pray that you find two cars soon. By the way, I have missed seeing you here.

Yes, that is the only fortunate thing about it. I am a little pessimistic when it comes to insurance companies coughing up what my car is worth. I had a bad accident a few years ago and basically was told to shove off, so I am hoping for better returns this time.:) Thank you by the way for the warm welcome back, I have really missed being on and chatting with everyone. Hope you have a great day!
