i mean i mostly buy my clothes and my childrens clothes from thrift stores and yard sales . the way i see it is why should i spend 20 bucks on a shirt i can get for a dollar? i have found brand name clothes with no defects some even have an old tag on them sitting on a shelf or in a box just waiting for me to find them, personally i think i am smart for saving mi familia a ton of cash but so many people think that i am cheap. i guess i am but isnt that smart?

Wendy you are not cheap you are frugle and there is abig difference. We are told to recycle and that is what you are doing. I agree why pay50 for something when you can find something real nice for $3 or $4. You are very smart. I'll bet those friends that say your cheap have bill up the wazoo

I have bought clothes from thrift stores and the such because they do have some good clothes for cheap prices. I think you are just trying to save some money. I mean if your family still looks great I don't see the problem in it. I mean sometimes there are things at thrift stores that look "dirty" or "cheap" and those I wouldn't buy.

Shop Goodwill stores - goodwill stores
I don't think you're cheap I think you're smart. I buy my clothes at a thrift shop and a lot of what I sell on ebay is bought there and I've received good feedback from buyers. My sister in law has always bought her clothes and my neices from a thrift store. All it is is people who have grown out of thier clothes and are nice enough to donate instead of throwning them away or clothing from estates. Their clean and in good shape so what's the problem?

You certainly aren't cheap you are using your head, and in todays economic climate, more and more people will be shopping this way. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with shopping like this, its amazing what bargains you can pick up, and they can be brand labels as well.

Being cheap is not base with what you wear or the cost of the clothes you wear. It's a practical thing if you buy cheap clothes. If you have extra money,it's ok to buy expensive clothes. But if youre trying to save money, buying in thrift stores is not a problem.Even myself,i also buy from stores that is selling cheap clothes. If i have money,i will buy branded clothes.Cheap clothes is ok.As long as i can carry myself well, the clothes will not lookk cheap.

NO! I dont think you are cheap! i do the same thing! before i used to just get clothes that were the cheapest at stores because i couldnt afford any of the more exspensive stuff... and then my mom introduced me to yard sales & thrift stores and i loved it... and then my sister introudced me to ebay and i was lovng it! but the best thing is clearnace shopping, i will wait to the end of season hit my faovcrite stores and buy $15 pants for less then $3 and then my family is pretty much set for the following years season! i will take $50 and turn it into sometimes $150 worth of lcothes etcet c... its smarter that way.... you save money! and your still putting clothing on your familys back! what could get better than that??!?!?!?!

There is nothing wrong with saving money. Even if I did have more money, I probably would still go to thrift shops because you can get stuff there you can't get anywhere else and I can use the money I save for others who are in need..

I agree, why spend money on expensive clothes, especially for young children, to see them grow out of them in a year (and most often much less than a yr) We received so many clothes for our 4 yo, as he is the 1st grandson in my sweetie's side of the family and they went a bit overboard (as they had all been buying for grand-daughters for so many years) and he ended up outgrowing so many of the clothes after wearing them just a couple of times. We sold clothes at yard sales that still had gift tags on them! It was so crazy, but we did sell a lot of his clothes for good $$ and gave a bunch to my sis-in-law who had just had grandson #2. She was thrilled with the hardly worn and never worn clothes, as it saved her hundreds of dollars. The people buying the clothes saw that at worst, the clothes were gently-worn and in perfect condition and they also had no problem loading up a bag with clothes for $20 p/bag. And whatever was left, went to the thrift shop. It really felt good knowing we helped a bunch of people and even better when a local family was having big money problems and had 2 children in diapers and we were able to bring them 3 bags of clothes and all our leftover diapers that our son outgrew, along with a few packs of diapers a local business provided. We still buy our boys clothes on clearance from places like WalMart and we buy them 1 & 2 sizes larger. Almost all of our boys pants were purchased at WalMart for $1 - $3 each on clearance and shirts were $1... not a bad deal for brand new!

My boyfriend tells me, when I say that, Your not cheap, your thrifty..I do the same thing you do. I can not afford to by full price things. I dress just as well as everyone else, but I'm buying my clothes at thrift stores. :)
