What Is The BIG Deal About CROCS?

I personally do not like them. I think they are ugle (like, REALLY ugly) and I hate the way they feel. I once tried on a couple of pairs and the rough edges from the form they were made in hurt my feet. I even went a size bigger to see if that would help and nearly tripped out of them. I do not understand how anyone could find them nice, and yet they have taken over! I live in Florida where flip flops are year-round wear. And WHY do they have some with fuzziness on the inside? Crocs were originally intended to be BEACH shoes. Not everywhere shoes. The fuzzy stuff kills that idea. I'm just curious and really want to hear the other side of the story. Thanks!

Hi, theVacuous1. I love wearing flip flops. I just don't like to wear them all of the time. The strap between my toes irritates my skin at at times. I would love to have a pair of Croc sandals with the holes in them though.

You may just have incredibly sensitive feet! I've had crocs for a couple years now, and LOVE them. I've never had a pair of shoes that have been so comfortable. Ugly? Yes, the original is ugly, but they have TONS of other styles on their websites. My wife wouldn't let me get crocks for a while until she found some that actually looked cool. I pretty much wear crocs everyday. I have a pair of nice leather ones (look like loafers) and when at the house, where them all the time. We don't have carpeting, so sometimes walking around barefoot can cause a pain in the foot. Being able to slips crocs on when around the house is incredible. They slip on and off so easy. I have a pair of the "ugly" ones that I use around the house. They basically replace slippers. Slippers can get to hot (I live in Texas)

Though its expensive I was able to get a pair through my aunt who gave it to me when she arrived from the united states. I thank her for giving me the crocs for I know me alone I wont be able to buy such extravagnt slippers.

crocs - These shoes were designed specifically to eliminate plantar pain and achy feet. They also help people with injured feet, bunions, and diabetes. You've got a lot of inner support, heel cups and massaging heel nubs, and arch support. They're ideal for people with foot problems.
oh yeah, me too. I don't like crocs. whenever I see someone wearing those, they really look like mc donalds. LOL. but there's a health benefits of this shoes.. here it is: Crocs are clog-like shoes that come in an array of vibrant colors. Since their emergence in 2002 they have been gaining in popularity in department stores across the nation. Fans of these shoes tout the brand's comfort and versatility, and with good reason - these shoes have been certified by the U.S. Ergonomics Council and the American Podiatric Medical Association. The company has recently created a line of Crocs designated as Rx shoes, with the styles of shoes being named Croc Relief, Croc Cloud, and Croc Silver Cloud. As quoted in the WebMD article, "Crocs: Healthy Shoes or Just Comfy", Crocs Vice President Lyndon V. Hanson, III says, "These shoes were designed specifically to eliminate plantar pain and achy feet. They also help people with injured feet, bunions, and diabetes. You've got a lot of inner support, heel cups and massaging heel nubs, and arch support. They're ideal for people with foot problems."In this same article, Harold Glickman, DPM, former president of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), says this of the Crocs brand shoes: "These shoes are especially light. They have huge room in the toe that affords the front part of the foot lots of room, especially for people with bone deformities like bunions and hammer toe. With the Rx Crocs, they're lined with antibacterial material that will prevent fungal and bacterial infections."Glickman adds, "I do not have stock in the company or work for the company, but I recommend them to patients all the time, and I wear them all the time. I wear them when I'm operating for three or four hours at a time and I get the sense I'm standing on water -- no leg pain, no back pain, and no arch pain."As a substitute for a summer sandal, Crocs also get Glickman's approval. As quoted in the WebMD article, "Crocs offer more protection for your feet than flip-flops. Flip-flops don't provide a lot of arch support; they're open-toed so you can stub your toe and hurt yourself. Crocs offer more protection and comfort than that."

i dont have anything against the shoe but if you're talking about the first design that crocs came out, the bulky one then i think that one's ugly! but crocs now have come out with so many designs, some of them are not bad. i've heard that most people wear it because it's comfortable though

I have a pair that I wore when I was pregnant with my daughter. i worked a t a job where I had to stand for 10 hours a day, and I wore these so I could just kick them off when no one was looking. I do not wear them anymore though. Mine shrunk and they are too tight now.

I love them. I think they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. My 2 year old daughter, 3 year old neice, 1 year old nephew and 11 month old neice all wear them and love them. At first, I refused to wear them because I didn't think they were cute at all....but, they are SOOOO comfortable! Also, the fuzzy feels sooooo nice.......lol
