Have you ever just totally felt like azz and couldn't shake it?

whining smiley - I chose this one because it's how I feel right now.

Been sick since the weekend, not much coughing/sneezing/nose-blowing, but internally ill and overly sleepy (ya'll know I don't sleep much). Been pumping myself full of the proper vitamins and herbs, not drinking a whole lot of coffee, or eating harsh/spicy foods. I was able to function to go to classes, but after a few hours of classes, I've been totally wiped out...and my insides still feel rotten/tender/icky, whatever you want to call that feeling. Do you ever get this way? If you do, how do you shake it? I'm rarely sick for this long, and please don't advise me to go to the doctor. I won't go. I can still walk and talk, just want this awful feeling to go away.

I've had this "thing (there's alwas a "thing goin around isn't there?, lol). For a couple weeks now. Achy, azz feeling, junk headed, drained and just plain shytty, caughing and snifflin gunk, the works. two weeks ago, my girlfriend was down with the same stuff. I think this is one of those things I'm just gonna have to ride out and treat symptomaticaly. I did find a shot of warm whiskey gave me a nice warm melty feeling at night, lol, a know, all warm and fuzzy, it was a nice little break and allowed me to rest a bit.

I didn't even think to go pick up some whiskey for a toddy. That does sound good. Are you doing the vitamin thing too? I take C and B12 religiously when I feel like this and that usually kicks it in about 3-4 days, but not this time. The hubs & kid have been doing the coughy-sneezy thing, but the kid's over it now. And he wouldn't take off school either, lol. Maybe not my biological son, but me ma is right, he does act a lot like me, lol. Hope you get the ick kicked soon & thanks for stopping by, it's been awhile.

I hear ya. I had it bad Sunday, really bad, but since it's been more of a pain in the butt than anything. I have no time for sicknesses, lol. I can breathe fine, it's just that icky feeling inside that's bringing me down. Maybe it was pc withdrawl, I've been feeling okay for the past couple of hours with only a twinge of pain here and there. j/k

Yeah, it's a really gross feeling, I know. Usually people make me feel like that. People who strike me as so awful, so negative, who wish so much ill to..pretty much anyone.. I don't come across them all the time, but occasionally I do. And I feel ill, gross. My head will pound, I'll feel like I wanna throw up. And it makes me feel like I'm awful, like anything I say will just completely be wrong no matter what even though I know this all ain't true. Mostly, I do some meditation, I "ground" (which is basically reestablishing a connection with the earth..letting nature's energy and mine flow freely until the energy "toxins" are cleaned out)..I tell myself to just forget about the incident, the people, whoever or whatever made me feel this way. That everything is fine, will be fine or else I can handle it. I go through pleasant memories and spend some time with people I adore like crazy...I write. I dunno which one makes it go away, but eventually, often without my noticing it, I feel better in no time. I also do the stuff you mentioned above. As it is, when I say writing I mean for pleasure. Fiction or song. It doesn't matter if you're any good, just that you enjoy it. Do things which you're interested in, which stimulates pleasant feelings to combat the gross ones. If you're really tired, let yourself sleep and rest until you replenish your energy again. Chocolate and other foods with endorphins also might help, since they help your mood shift from "gross" to "content". I'd mind the sugar and go toward dark chocolate though. And most of all reflect and listen to what your body tells you. Think on it, examine it. Work through it if it's too tough to simply brush aside.

Wow. I can't help but laugh at this part, tho I know it isn't really funny: Usually people make me feel like that. I'm wondering if it's Mr. Chen making me feel this way. I have felt horrible since bombing 2 math tests. You are not my only friend mentioning that I should take up meditation. Every time I try, I fall asleep, lol. Maybe I should try harder. I have been avoiding chocolate, it sometimes makes my fibrocystic (sp?) act up, but there are some dingdongs in the kitchen, might have to grab one. You have fabulous advice, Paranoia. Speaking of, where can I go to read about your Goddess? Seriously, I think it's time i took time off from the fight to examine some other things. I'm a weird believer anyway. Been questioning everything since finding out most of my life has been a lie. Thanks, chicka.

Anything with endorphins should help, I usually know a whole list of foods with them in it..but at the moment my headache's hampering my memory..so you might have to do some googling..and lol, it's okay. You're not the only one who falls asleep while trying to meditate. I've been meditating for a few years now, and occasionally I still fall asleep. When you're already tired, it doesn't really help and at first it takes alot of concentration and the falling asleep thing certainly doesn't help but yeah, it takes some practice. Anyway, 'haps that person is who's making you feel that way. I dunno. I tend to be particularly sensitive to different people's energy's at times, I'm not sure how it is with you-- but whatever it is, I hope you can deal with it okay. Taking time for yourself and examining things can never hurt, and you definitely deserve a break, I agree ^_^ and I can sympathize a bit, dearie. Rude awakenings and revelations in life can do that to you..though if you pick through things carefully and take care of yourself, like you're doing by thinking about everything, will make it a much smoother trip than I ever had I'm sure. :) As for my Goddess, well I'll give you the typical answer and say; you already know her =) To not be completely cryptic though, I'll be good and explain lol. Since I'm pagan, my beliefs kinda don't fit a particular format. My Goddess, I believe is everything. Mostly nature. Manifest in everyone, and everything. Beautiful, and horrible, kind and cruel..because that's how the world is. The reason why I believe in her, is because she taught me much and I believe she guided me. Though the lessons were hard..and I've gone through both heaven and hell to learn the things she had to teach me..I'm still thankful, and I take joy in the knowledge I now have. She's the essence then, of 'tough love'. I believe..that every culture has known her, that every religion has her in some way or form. Currently, I'm learning her manifestation as the Native American deity Coyote, and a month ago I was learning her manifestation as the Egyptian Goddess Bast. Complicated answer, no? I dunno. My faith just fits me best, because it means a constant education. I learn about many peoples, cultures, religions..and more and more about my own. It's fun most of the time. Tough occasionally. But its what gets me through the day besides my best friend ^_^ If you're wanting to question more of life's mystery's and re-examine some of the finer questions there are then go where you're called. Rseeach what you've always wanted to. If it seems to be a truth, and what's right then awesome. Only you can really decide that for yourself..after all, only we as individuals can say what our reality is..because we all perceive it differently. *smiles* All in all though, have fun. You really deserve to have some fun. And now is as good a time as any to ask some of the more fun questions on the really cool subjects like reality and religion, philosophy and culture.

I hope you feel better soon my dear friend. I find that if I sweat the germs out it helps a great deal, by going to the gym and doing rigorous exercise on the treadmill for example has iin the past stopped me getting colds and flus and if I do start to sniff or feel below par going to the gym sweats all the nasty bugs out of me. Failing that if you don't have the energy have a nice hot toddy! Put whisky or brandy in coffee or a mug of hot chocolate this also has the desired affect of sweating the germs out! Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery!

I may be temporarily going back to serving (I'll find out within the next couple of hours), and that will be plenty workout for me. Glad to see you, Wolfie. It's been awhile. Hope things are going well for you. Ciao4now, Shannon

Sometimes resting only makes your condition worse, so try to move and walk around from time to time. I don't really don't like the feeling of being sick, so I always move around and walk. If I don't feel dizzy at all, I normally do things as if I am not sick but I avoid to do heavy chores. I just take on some antibiotics or any medicine that can help me recover, I also take alot of juices which are rich in vitamin C to help my body resistance to help me regain my strength.

I have been going to school, running errands, etc. I have been shirking home duties, and the family has been great about it--well, my dishes are done at least, lol. I've been doing the vitamin C & B12 thing, tho. I should go pick up some juice. I've mostly been drinking lemon tea & energy beverages that are no sugar and high in vitamin content. Thank you for stopping by and for the advice. I was going to loaf and study today, but thanks to your advice to keep moving, I will do some housework today too.
