My friends and relatives often say that I waste lot of money on purchasing Books. I love books and love to procure them and keep in my possession so that i can go through them whenever I like to do so. Thats the reason I buy lot of books of various subjects of my interest. But my friends feel that we can have any information on internet so there is no point in purchasing books at such an exhorbitant cost which normally good books do have! But I think books do have their own advantage over the internet , we can take book to the bed or can carry anywhere and it is easy to go through it when you are in mood to do so! Well what is your opinion about it? Do you still spend lot of money in purchacing books?

Yes, I like reading. And whenever I find a good book, I will buy it. Even the ebook is still available, but I prefer to have a book because I can read and collect it.

Yes, I still buy books on a regular basis, mainly because I love reading before sleeping; it helps to relax me. I particularly like biographies and autobiogaphies. However, I don't keep all of them. I buy them as cheap as I can; for example, the book I'm reading at present cost me just one British pound (2 dollars); basically they are disposable to me, but I love reading them.

Tell your friends that books are so important that they are naming even laptops as books-"notebook"-Notepad". I love books too, nothing can beat the feeling of curling up with a book under your quilt and having a steaming cup of coffee with it to go. Me and my hubby both wish one day to afford a library.

I am a programmer and I do still purchase books. I have the luxury of just reading ebooks on my personal computer however, it is still better (in my own opinion) to read the real book. I spend my money buying books that interest me especially computer programming ones and foreign languages ones! :D

I still buy books simply because many of the books that I love to read are yet to be made available in soft copy form. In view of the amount of paper consumed and number of trees that are cut in order to manufacture those paper, I prefer the electronic form of reading, if made available.

Money spent purchasing books is rarely wasted. I completely agree with you and myself I still buy books, often. Sure I can read things in the internet. I can even buy e-books if I want to, but it's not the same thing as picking up a book - feeling it in your hands that new book smell... :) Yes, they are expensive, and the least people buy them the more expensive they might get, but they are still important and something to keep. THink about it this way - when there's a blackout, you can still pick up your book and read it:) Myself, I love to read in bed, just before going to sleep. It's true I could take my ebook reader or even my laptop... but I like the feeling of my book :)

Yes, I still spend some fortune on books. Despite the onset of ebooks and the internet, I still prefer the olf fashioned way of reading. So once a month, I go to the bookstore and browse for books that I would like to read. I am more on fiction books and magazines though I often buy the paperback versions because the hard bound ones tend to be more expensive.

I also love books. We have hundreds of books in our home. I do not like having to read on the computer. You can't take a computer to bed with you to read before falling asleep. It's just not the same. And, reading from a screen makes my head hurt if I do it too much.

Both my husband and I love books. We buy books for ourselves and our children. We also frequently check books out at our library. We read a lot at our house and try to instill the same in our kids. Our 18 month old daughter loves for us to read to her and she also "reads" to herself.

I used to often get that same remark from my relatives that i was wasting alot of money on books. I too love them and have collections of all kinds in my possession. I have many collections that I bet if I sold now or even in like 5 yers from now would be worth alot of money!!!!! Yeah they are also right, internet is loaed with information but that doesnt mean you shouldnt go out and NOT buy books because the information online might not be sufficient enough to what you are looking for. Books are always another good resource. I am currently a college student and I do find that i use the internet alot and that it is sufficient enough for me but i do sometimes have to turn to other resources like books, magazines, television, and/ or newspapers. In conclusion, I do not spend alot of money purchasing books!

yeah actually i do spend money on books, mostly because i've an computer user for years, and now i'm starting to get this feeling that everything i see on my desktop is not real, that it's just a product of 1's and 0's doing their work.. second reason is that my eyes hurt if i'm reading too much text on the computer.. But for books, there's a certain charm and u just love to hold it in your hand, so real... books that u buy always stay at ur place, it cant be deleted or something....AND i Love the scent of a newly bought book:D

Reading from internet i rarely do that, i don't think internet can replace books. Internet has got lots of advantages like accessing many opinions on the topic that we are reading or we got many options to view and read it but sometimes all the informations are not true and most are junk. Reading books is something different, we get a limited source to gain but nothing can replace it.

Books are nice and by books, I don't include e-books. :P I seldom buy books too since that require lots of money as well as space to store. But from time to time, I will spend to support my favorite authors. =)

yes, but mostly its because I collect these kind of books (series). sometimes, when I go to Old books store, I see lots of titles that are tempting to buy (very cheap price). However, I think to myself, do I really have the time to read a book? I think I'm better off reading an ebook since I can read it in my PC at home, at the office or even my cellphone (much less of an hassle than carrying a book).

With the advent of the modern technology, i became so lazy in reading books. Not only because whnever i start skimming the pages i feel dizzy and sleepy. Maybe its because that i am already used to surf the net whenever i wanted to read or hear or watch a movie. But i don't say that i already don't like books of course that's my first best friend. But i refrain from purchasing books now.
