But if not, then that's the time where I measure it and choose for Best response. Well I also have to consider the content of their posts, hte more informative they are, the better chances they'd get the prize!;)

I generally wait until the responses seem to have dried up or about a week. This usually works. Sometimes it does happen that a thread starts out slow and I think it is done, then after I give a BR more responders come into the thread. However, this usually does not happen.
