Is it just me or does it seem as though many (if not most) people on mylot read the subject title, form an opinion right away then post on a conversation thread without even bothering to read the entire post or anyone elses comments?

Yes, there are people who do that. Usually it's the ones who only care about the money and are trying to make as many posts in a day as they can. I will read the discussion part everytime. Whether or not I read the comments depends on the type of discussion. There are some discussions which I can read and automatically form an opinion and don't want to be influenced by others. Yhen there are discussions which I need to read te comments so I know if other people have alreay given the same advice or if the OP has added more information. Others I don't NEED to read but do anyway because I enjoy the conversations.

I do read the entire post but don't read comments made by others. I get emails letting me know a post has been started by someone on my friend list. It's faster or easier to answer the discussion without going to the poster's profile. When this is done, I don't see the other comments from anyone else. Don't know if that's a good habit to get into or not but it works for me. After I answer the discussion it takes me back to the original post where I do see all the responses. Sometimes I find myself repeating a small portion of what someone has already answered. Might be more effective if myLot had it set up in a different manner.

Sometimes people do not have the time to read all the replies to a discussion, and I sometimes do that. Some posts are long, and some have too many replies, yet their is lots more stuff to read on the site.

I think that happens quite often around here. I have had comments on my discussions that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the topic sometimes. Other times I add something else in response to someones response and the person that posts later you can tell did not read what else I typed. It can be annoying.

Yes. I sometimes do that as well. Sometimes I get tired of all the reading. I post alot. also I find it difficult to read the full posts when people don't use paragraph breaks.

Unfortunately it's not just you that notices that. There are a lot of users that just like previous posts said are here to make a certain amount of posts to get paid. I have to admit that I've done that too, but usually on topics that are asking questions and not posing a discussion type post.

I still feel rather new myself and wanted to see if this was a real perception or my imagination. I always read the entire post and any subsiquent comments. Often I won't bother making a comment after that because some one has already expressed my opinion, why duplicate. From some of the posts I've seen here it looks to be real and many do it simply to make a few extra pennies.
