Will the world end December 21st 2012?

I saw this show the other night and it was really interesting. They we talking about how various cultures from the Myans, to the chinese with a book call i ching that was mapped and a web bot projects and prophecies all seemed to suggest the end of the world on a partiular day. What do you think of this?

December 21st 2012 is equivalent to the Water Dragon Year, Water Mouse Month, Fire Dragon Day in eight-words. Nothing special about this date. Somebody important would die, though.

of course anybody can die on that day, people die every day, that will not be the first or the last. I believe you, nothing special about that day. People love to play with numbers, just like Jim Cary's film "number 23"

I don't believe that anyone would be able to interpret such a thing. People in the past have tried such thing and all have failed.

If you believe in the Bible it is all there written down in black and white. All that is happening in this world is written down. One day there is going to be a solution to these problems and everyone will think that we have reached world peace when really it is far from that. Eventually you will have to have a computerised chip injected into your skin without this you won't be able to buy or sell anything.
I know you are probably reading this thinking this woman is nuts, but I do believe what the Bible says. When you think of how unsecure the world is right now it seems the sensible approach for everyone to have a chip implant that way nobody would be able to commit fraud unless they cut off your arm or leg which is a bit drastic.
I don't know about this Chinese book, but I do know the Bible talks about a dragon rising from the sea so this is a bit strange. It also says in the Bible that we won't know the date or the time when the world comes to an end for it is not for us to know, but God.
