Ever notice when somebody gives us horrible service we seem to go on and on about it. Well how about good service. When you get good service do you ever say anything about it? We always get good service when we go to one particular restaurant, thinking about this, I finally went to the website and posted a comment. I think I usually try to thank the staff when I am there too. I hope someone acknowledges what good employees they have here.

Yes, i always congratulate the staff for good service applied, though i never whined about bad service when such was offered. Its good to make people understand that you are happy with what you got, but on the other way if what you got wasnt enough they will soon find out because you will stop going there, right? So, yes, i say thank you to the staff, and particularly the chef if i can manage to talk to him directly, or else i just have my regards sent to him but the server. Chefs always feel happy when they get peoples nice comments on their food.

That is true, if people get poor service and don't go back, then the place will go out of business. Plus I believe if you thank people it makes them feel good about their work and then they actually try to do an even better job.

Good for you. Good point too. I get kind of upset when I send an email to a company and never hear anything back. Not even an answer in a can. Thanks for posting!

Hi,there! I think nowadays people pay much attention to the service. Most people will compare not only about the product but also about the service.I do value that and has said thank you for good services.I say that because others paid attention to it and made their afforts to offer good service. That should be appreciated:) I also would like to thank mylot.I enjoy the website and their services. It's always important to know that we should thank others in some cases. We don't get things for granted. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day^_^

I'm not saying this bcoz I'm responding a discussion in public area. But I believe that I'm quite fair about that. If I get good service like in a restaurant or stores and any service I always say thank the employees, I even say thank you to the employee who guard the parking ticket booth. But when I accept bad service I will directly give complaint and want to set things right.

I always say Thank You for good service. I have worked in customer service for a long time and I know that there can be some really bad employees on the phone. So its nice to find someone who really cares about what you want.

My husband and I go out of our way to let employers know when they have an outstanding employee. I have done a lot of retial and a lot of restaurant work, and so I know how hard it can be. We always fill out those "how are we doing" survies. We are big tippers. We mind our p's and q's haha.

LOL That's great. People should know how good their employees are, because good help is hard to find. So they need to know when someone is doing a good job so that they can reward them.

That's the way it is. People hesitate to pay compliments but they love when they receive any. May be humans are stingy to say nice words to others or may be they just dont care. Some think that it is the duty of the other to give good service. I wish all should realize that paying compliments motivate the other and nothing is lost to the person who gives the compliment.

I am one that believes giving credit where credit is due, I have in the past not only thanked the person concerned but also written a letter to their employers to tell them how happy I was with the service they gave me, I think people should be encouraged and not taken for granted in anything we do.

I have to admit that when I go to a restaurant I reflect my thanks for the good service by giving a tip, if the service was bad I don't leave a tip, it's not as customary in our country as it is in others. I know it may sound harsh but I think the tip should be well deserved not compulsory. I do acknowledge good service because basically it is so rare to get good service and yes people always do remember bad service and talk about it more than when they got good service, rule of thumb sadly. Good service a person will forget or take for granted or maybe tell a friend or two. Bad service and they will want to tell the world!

So true. Tips should be earned, but unfortunately in the states employers are allowed to pay so minimal income you almost feel obligated to tip a minimum percentage of your tab.

Yes I always do... even in the elevator, the one that is operating the elevator, or the guard on the mall who opens the door for me, the service crew on the fast food that offers to carries the foods for me, I never forget to say 'thank you" for the service no matter how small or big it is... we have to be grateful with everything.

yup always say thank you and always say please AND if you request something toasted, realize that it takes a few minutes to do that if the service takes awhile or is bad, and the person is just new or busy or something, always be polite anyway

Those were my mother's words exactly. And I believe you're right, it is very important to be patient with people when they are new or just busy.
