The pain of toothache is unlike any pain I have ever experienced! The day before I had a tooth out last year I was almost in tears in bed the night before, all I could feel was this sharp, throbbing pain in my head & I couldn't put my head on the pillow as all I could feel was the pulse in my head on the pillow - It was the most intense, persistant pain I have ever experienced - it was torture! My wife who has been through natural childbirth twice, has just yelled accross the room that tootchache was worse pain than child-birth.. now there's a interesting discussion in the making!

This discussion actually made me visit the dentist the other day! I had a couple of cavaties which I would normally have left until the pain was unbearable but after talking so much about here, I think I kind of healed my phobia in some way! lol I had two minor fillings & a good clean up.. MyLot sure does have it's benefits!!

Hello meenneixz. Nope! Having a toothache is the worst thing ever. The last time I remembered having a toothache was terrible. I couldn't even eat well and sleep well because of the pain. I tried drinking medicine and even putting toothpaste on my cavity and even tried putting toothache drops which tasted terrible. Nothing seemed to work that fast. Then I decided going to the dentist to ease the pain.

I agree that a toothache is very painful. I would get to the dentist right away and have the situation taken care of. You can buy toothache medicine at various stores but think that's simply a short term fix. Feel better.

My tooth started hurting badly last weekend, I was literally screaming into a pillow at some points because it was just excruciating. Around 1AM I just couldn't take it anymore, so I packed myself and my kids up and went to the ER for help. I was told that it was probably infected, given some Vicodin and Penicillin and sent on my way. I ended up having an allergic reaction to the Penicillin, and ended up back in the ER. I made it into a dentist, who then told me my tooth was not infected but the nerve is exposed, so when it gets irritated is when I have the horrible horrible pain. He wanted to take it out right then and there but I just was not prepared for that, I expected at least some notice before I get oral surgery done. So, for the past week I've just been globbing on the nighttime formula of Orajel, which is MUCH better than the other types since it's a thick cream that stays on the tooth unlike the gel or liquid that you have to keep on re-applying. My tooth is actually hurting pretty badly right now, regardless of the Orajel. I have pain killers still but don't want to take one since it's morning and they make me pass out. Try the Orajel P.M. formula...another thing that I found helpful was to swish some Listerine around in my mouth.

Hi meenneixz! I can imagine the experience you had when you encountered toothe ach. I have had such experience too and I must say it was really a difficult situation for me because it didn't allowed me to sleep, not even to rest. It is very painful that's why, anytime I come accross someone having such an experience, I tend to feel sorry for him or her. Thanks and have a great day.
