Today my son was scheduled for an early release day from school which means they get out of school at 1pm instead of 3pm well the weather was pretty icy last night and the school had a 2 hr delay this morning which means he starts school at 10:30 rather than 8:30 but whats the point of that when they will be getting out at 1??? why go to school for 2 1/2 hrs i dont get it.. but i have to send him even though its only for a shortwhile because the next 2 days i have to get him out early for dentist and dr appts. sometimes i dont get the school system with today being one of them! anyone find this to be odd and crazy or is it just me??

It seems a bit ridiculous to have school for only 2 1/2 hours. If the weather is bad enough that they need to shorten the school day then they should just cancel it all together. What a waste of gas for the school buses.

Ugh I can relate..nonsense like that goes on here too with my kids school and I really get annoyed...I know why they do it though, its all about the money..the less hours the kids are in school the less money the school gets...Of course its more detailed than that but thats the basic idea....

I find it ridiculous too. My daughter goes through that a lot with my granddaughters school and it just makes it harder for my daughter since she works and my granddaughter goes to an after school program. I wonder what the poor kids think about getting ready for a school day and then only being there for such a short time. It has to confuse the hell out of them.

I would have kept him home. i'm not going to run around like a headless chook, changing my routine just because the school can't be bothered cancelling school for the day.
