Best Items To Sell On eBay?

What do you think are the best items to sell on eBay? In other words, what items do you think are most profitable? What items would you be interested in buying on eBay? I've sold on eBay for years, but mostly that which has been laying around my house, or name brand clothing in excellent condition that me and my family have outgrown. I've noticed that it's much harder now to make a worthwhile profit on eBay than it was 5 or 6 years ago. The listing fees have drastically gone up and after the time invested and the eBay, paypal, and postal fees have been deducted, it seems I hardly make any money. What items allow you to make a decent profit? Perhaps you have a technique that you'd like to share. I'm interested in anyones seller success stories and advice. Thanks!

One of the magazine subscriptions I sell! - magazine cover
I've been selling on ebay for about 6 years and have sold everything you can think of but what makes the most money for me is Magazine Subscriptions. Two years ago I bought the link to a subscription agency online, added money to my account with them and have been making money ever since.

Thanks! If you check out magazine subscriptions on ebay you should find some sellers. I'm thinking of putting it on there myself probably next month. It's a real money maker. I sold 5 subscriptions tonight alone and made over $50 so I'm a happy camper!

For some reason I'm not doing so great with clothing, but its basically just because of the fees. I'll have to explore the opportunity of selling in lots to try to save money, perhaps than it will be more worth while. Thanks for the suggestion!

I tried selling on eBay for a little bit and it's just really tough these days with so much competition I guess, so I gave up. I did sell things that were "gothic" or in that category for clothing & shoes. I noticed that people like things that are unique or one of a kind like the do-it-yourself kinds of clothing that I've seen people bidding like crazy on. If you know how to sew then you are really sitting on a potential gold mine. I also noticed that video games are a hot item that sells pretty well but you will have to deal with alot of stock too so that's the downside of that. Try searching through eBay to see what sells and hopefully you will find something that you can provide the buyers with that they will love. One last word of advice that I've told alot of people is this, "STUPID THINGS SELL!!" LOL...Sad but true. I think you know what I mean when you think of all the little doodads that have made people millions. Good luck =)

Very True- I have seen some extremely bazaar items selling for far more than their worth on eBay. I unfortunately do not sew, other than tiny fixer-uppers. Perhaps I should try and learn! I'll definitely explore the possibilities, as far as my one of a kind items and older video games. Thanks for the response : )

Wow! Congrats to you! Thats fabulous! I am in the US and sometimes pick up items at thrift and resale shops that I see if I think they hold significant value. But, I have not sold as many household items and toys as I have clothes. Perhaps I should try to steer away from the clothing! Thanks for the suggestions!

I've bought a few things from e-bay and have been very satisfied. I know sports items sell not only on e-bay but other sites as well. Haven't tried to sell anything but do make handmade crafts. I really don't understand the details but should learn the ropes. It might be rather profitable for me to sell or try to sell some of my items. Thanks for posting this discussion. It's been interesting reading how others have profited from e-bay.

In my considerable e-baying experience, the best method for discovering what's selling and what's not is by going to e-bay and looking it up. There are many way to search on e-bay if you go into the community section you'll find many helpful hints on there.

I have not sold on e-bay but we do buy things from e-bay.I always look for collectables, and the 50's and 60"s stuff. We recently found an older game that we use to play all the time called "Wahoo" you cannot find it in stores anymore so we bought one there. My hubby recently bidded on a camera but lost his bid at the last minute.I was talking to my daughter yesterday and she was scanning e-bay looking for "beatles" stuff.I don't really know what is real popular but i know all the people i know just scan and look..

The best thing you can do is become an member of a dropshipper and sell all their items on ebay. I know one such dropshipper which is a trusted name but unfortunately its membership is restricted to US only. You can avail their one week free trial and test their system and if it does not work for you you can quit.So if interested, then l can give u then link as i'm a affiliate of that site.

Of course it all depends on marketing and reputation, so it can vary, but I would say clothing is a pretty good market - especially hand-made or designer. That and rare collectible items, we sold quite a few coins and stamps on there very quickly, with lots of interest :)
