I need to vent. Here is how the ongoing story goes and what's been done to repair the problem. On December 3rd, my husband noticed a water main break outside in our neighbor's front yard. It's not gushing water but is a steady stream and is running over and under our driveway. Yesterday, it wiped out our mailbox since there is so much water that never stops. I called the water company 3 times and they keep pulling my chain and saying someone will be out there to repair the break. The first call I made was December 10 to complain since my husband noticed the problem 12/3 but didn't say anything about it. We had tons of rain that week and I didn't notice a problem. It is now 12/21 and nothing has been done to repair the problem. The last call made to them I did ask if there was another phone number or email address where I could contact their offices or take the complaint to management. They told me no other phone number and no other email address. Ok, so I must sound like a dumb blonde. I've been just livid about this problem since it has the potential to really damage our driveway. Keep in mind this problem stems from a break on our neighbor's property and the water company said their bill would reflect the water usage, not ours. How would you handle this problem and where would you go next or what would you do? I've tossed around calling our attorney.

searcher said it all for me...There is no excuse for them allowing this to continue for so long. They should have had a crew out within a few days at most to repair the problem. Keep track of any receipts for repairs that you accumulate so you can try to make them pay. This is ridiculous and I hope they take action soon!

I just emailed the information to my husband and now it's his turn to deal with this mess. If anyone gets things done, it's him. They won't pull any punches with him. Christmas Eve it will be 3 weeks since this all started. It has a distance to run before it would get inside the house but running under our driveway could be a hazard. Thanks for responding and Merry Christmas.

I would go over their heads to the my city councilman or woman or the city engineer! I have been known to do that and you usually get results right away!

Unfortunately we are in an uncorporated area of a huge city. Nobody will listen just as the water company has chosen to do. Pretty swad and pretty irritating. We will eventually get things worked out. Thanks for responding and Merry Christmas.

My husband called today another emergency call. They told him the same bs they've been telling me for 2 weeks. I finally found their website and sent them a nasty email but the only place I could send it to was customer service which will get us no place. I did call our ins. company and am waiting for a return call. My husband is going to call our atty. if this is not solved in a day or 2. We have never had any kind of lawsuit. And, we've never had a problem with a neighbor and have lived here 34 yrs. Pretty sad. Thanks for responding and Merry Christmas.
