Do you agree with the way your parents raised you?

Do you think you will raise your children or are you raising your children the same way?

Most parts yes! But there are certain aspects that I don't agree with. Don't get me wrong...I know they did the best they could and did everything that they knew how to. They've made sacrifices for us (some of which I thought was unnecessary) and I would never blame them for their parenting style. I raise my child mostly based on my perception of what it should be...but it usually clashes with that of my husband's...because he is permissive and thinks there is no need of discipline for a 6 year old. He thinks we should wait till our son is 10 and I think that's way too late!

yes and no, they raised me with the respect and responsibility of being my own self but they also gave me lack of self confidence, fears of life and most of all the fear of failure.

I was araised by my grandmother and mother. No father around and not only did they raise me with a strong work ethic and manners towards women, they deffinately are responsible in what kind of father I am now. I know I will never let my children feel what I felt being abandoned by the man that was supposed to love me and I appreciate my children much more for it

I totally agree. I had a great childhood. I only hope to be half as good of a parent as they are!

yes, because they raised me up with trust and proper discipline. they've never been to strict to me and too controlling. neither have they been too lose to tolerate me on the bad things i did. im glad that they raised me up to be a great person inside and out. i must show them all the gratitude that i can for their love and care.

When I was a kid. I didn't agree. But, now I know it's good. One of the option that I've got.

I am raising my kids with the same foundations for respect that my parents raised me with.. Other areas I have changed..I don't make them eat everything on their plate or food I know they don't like..what's the point of that?

i love the way my parents raised me. they left it up to me to make some major decisions for myself like religion and whether to go to college etc. they supported me and told me their opinions but no matter what i knew that i was loved and i do hope that my son feels the same!

Of course I do. If I didn't I wouldn't like the person I am or who they are. I am raising my Children with the same respect and loving them as I learned to love. If a person doesn't agree with the way they were raised isn't upon their shoulder to change?

I think my parents raised me pretty well. I would raise my kids the same way my mom raised me.
