Do you find yourself watching and enjoying movies that you know will make you cry? I love to watch the movie Practical Magic even though I absolutely know I will be crying at the end even though I have seen it at least 5 times. I finally don't cry at the beginning part. But know with 100% certainty that I will be crying by the time it's over.

I sometimes refuse to watch if I know I will cry. At times though if I am in that certain mood I want those kinds of movies. I like to watch them alone though because I feel silly crying over a movie in front of people. How crazy is that? I hate to show my girly side sometimes. lol

I rarely watch a movie when I come across it if I know it will make me cry. I don't like to cry. I did it so much growing up, it is something I try to avoid when I go to the movies. Now I do see some things that I know will bring on the waterworks occasionally, but usually I skip to the next channel, even if I know it is a good movie no matter what.

that makes me feel better now that I know I am not the only one who does it. There are some movies I will watch up until the sad part and then walk into the other room.

Yeah, that is what I do when I'm not at my own house, and the choice of movie is up to the home owner. I'll get up and go get something to drink.

Oh I know. I almost get a headache because I make myself stuffed up crying. That movie should come with a tear jerker warning label!

Practical Magic makes me cry too. Yes, there are some movies that I know I'm going to end up crying, but I watch them anyways. I'm a sucker for a heartwarming ending. During the holidays I watched a lot of good movies on the Hallmark channel...(boy, did I ever have a cry-fest lol.)

Oh...the Note...that was SUCH a good movie. Of course, I blubbered like a darn fool over that one too! What's really funny is that in real life, I hardly ever cry, and it takes something earth shattering to make me do so. The only thing I ever really cry over is when I'm happy and 'touched.' Yes, lol...I'm touched, but NOT that way. (Well...maybe hahaha) Movies seem to bring it out more I guess.

I tend to cry easily. I am overly sensitive and internalize everything. I need to learn to relax and let go. I need to understand that I can't be perfect at everything.

Did you catch The Note with Genie Francis? I ended up crying with that one too. I am a real sucker for happy endings too.

Oh wow, you love Practical Magic too? At certain parts that gets me going...Like when Sally is explaining how when she was a little girl she did the spell so she would never fall in love..she asked for qualities in a man that couldn't possibly exist...but then of course he did...that one line Aiden Quinn's character says.."You know what? I wished for you too." Wahhh.. :( Oh, yes, some movies get me going no matter how many times I've seen them,...even the ending of Return of The King when Frodo leaves to go into the west..or watching E.T.--forget about it..real basket case there

I blubber like a baby at the end when Sally is begging Gilly not to die. And then when she saves her by doing the blood sister thing. I think the Notebook gets me more because I work with the dementia residents and see the fluctuations in their mental functioning on a daily basis. This movie is way over the top on them, but seeing the man being so patient with her and so loving, gets me where it hurts.

Oh--I never saw the Notebook, but you're mentioning about a mental problem made me remember another movie that got me blubbering. Ever see Awakenings with Robin Williams and Robert deNiro? It was all about patients who were like vegetables...no response from them..it was William's character that sensed that even those these people who were like "statues" and couldn't respond, they could still inwardly sense the world around them. Then he tried and gave them a medication, I think was primarily used for Parkinson's disease...the "statues" came to life and were functional...the sad part was some of the people had been in this state for like twenty years and had a hard time trying to comprehend they had lost some many years of their lives..sadly the medication was short lived..and they became in their vegetative state again..I cried so much at the end of that movie

Interesting. I am a big sap in crying over movies, but cannot predict which ones are going to end up being tear jerkers for me and which ones not. It sort of depends on what else has been going on, I guess. Cannot think of any at the moment that were both viewable and cryable the second or third time around.

I own and watch many movies that make me cry. Top 3 are The Green Mile, Armageddon, and City of Angels. I love them all and can pretty much recite them word for word.

"If Only" which stars Jennifer Love Hewitt really made me cry. I watched it alone at home and the movie had made a remarkable impact on me. What if your loved one had only 24 hours to live and you know all about it? How would you spend that last 24 hours with someone. That was the main theme of a movie. So now, I try to show the people I love that I care for them. That movie is a wake up call that we should not take people for granted.
