I use Ebay and I think that it is a good thing. I think they get kinda carried away with their seller fees though.

I think ebay is a better deal for buyers than for sellers. Although they have the traffic competition is quite stiff. You're better off using ebay to generate leads than you are if you're trying to make a profit just on selling your items. I'm also looking for other auction sites to sell on. If you can suggest a good one send me a pm and I'll check it out.

Oh, I think it is alright, you just have to watch what you are doing, because there are a lot of "sharks" on there! And it's like any other place, you just have to learn the ropes!

i hate ebay, but there is no other site that compares. I wish that someone would start one up. I wish that we could all get together and do it. I would never treat customers the way ebay treats theirs.

I will tell you that E-Bay is one of the best equalizer in the world today. The importance is that a relatively small company can reach an unheard of number of people world-wide. It can make a small company a giant.

I think eBay is a great thing. It's simple to use and if you have a brain, it's pretty hard to get screwed over. Consumers are well protected both by eBay and it's payment company PayPal. You can sell anything and everything. Where else can you find a store like this? The only other store that rivals eBay's credibility and success is Amazon.com.

As a buyer, I love it! You can find just about anything you want, and usually for a decent price. As a seller, the fees are getting ridiculous and really cut into your profits. I have been selling collectibles and my crocheted hats on ebay for a couple of years, but since the fees are getting so high I have closed my ebay store and opened one on Etsy.com (http://jillbeth.etsy.com) to sell my hats. I'll probably still sell collectible items on ebay when I think I can get enough for them to make it worth the effort! You also hear a lot of bad stuff about unscrupulous buyers and sellers, but I have personally never had a truly bad experience with any of my customers or those I have bought from.

I LOVE E-BAY! I have several collections going on and E-Bay helps me find the items that I am collecting. It is like a giant garage sale! hehehehe I also us E-Bay to get selling prices of items that I already own so that when I decide to sell the item, I know (or my heirs) have an idea of what people are paying for the item. I also like to do birthday and Christmas shopping with E-Bay. It is so easy! The only problem that I have with buying presents on E-Bay is that sometimes I buy them far in advance then forget "the perfect hiding spot" where I put them. To any one using E-Bay for the first time, I recommend that you use your credit card because it does offer buyer protection (better safe then sorry)! I do have one seller that didn't ever ship my item. (That's not bad considing the couple hundred purchases that I have made.) I used a money order so I contacted the United States Postal Service Mail Fraud Division. They work with postal services in other countries (the seller claims the item was lost by Canadian Post but won't send the information to me [I paid extra for shipping insurance].

I don't believe there is an online auction site that comes close to the amount of traffic Ebay receives. If you are selling anything, then it's traffic you want and Ebay is the best for that. Their fees are high and if you also use Paypal, you'll pay even more fees when you sell. As a buyer, there is no better place...there are so many auctions and buyers don't pay the fees (unless you think they're built into the price of the item you're buying) and if you set the price you want to pay, you can usually buy off Ebay at bargain prices. I still look for crafting supplies on Ebay and often find groups of beads or gemstone at much better prices than I can get from suppliers. If you plan on selling, research the item you are selling and see what they've sold for in the past and also check to see what day and time of day the highest price was realized. Try to place your items at the times buyers have looked or bid on them in the past. Good Luck to you in 2008!

I sell $400. - $600. of merchandise on e-bay monthly so I am in favor of it. I have also gotten good deals on purchases over the years. I haven't had too many issues with non-payment or non-delivery but occasionally I do. I also do think the seller's fees are getting out of hand. It's hard to make much of a profit with all the fees. I'm hoping to find another avenue to sell my products but so far I don't know where I would get that kind of exposure anywhere else.

I think eBay is ok if you are just selling things from around your home you no longer want. But to make a business from it is hard work. If you think you have thought of a good way of making money on eBay it's almost guaranteed some else has already done it.
