Cranium - favourite board game!

Holiday season is usually a time when we play board games. currently, Cranium is my favourite board game. There are four categories and teams compete in word puzzles, charades or role play, sculpting with clay and obscure fact trivia. Usually it creates a real ruckus and people are totally exhausted at the end of it, which ends when one team reaches the goal. Another game I like to play is Sequence, which uses a pack of cards and chips on a board. You are supposed to compete to form complete chains across the board and you can only lay down tiles according to the cards in your hand and the corresponding figure on the board. Of course there is Scrabble, which i played recently but it tends to get long if there is no control over time. What are your favourite board games and did you play them recently?

ha ha ha... I have not played board games in a long time! The last time I remember playing any board games was during my school camps. Monopoly, Mad, Sorry, Jobs, Scrabble, Cluedo... etc. Those sound so ancient compared to the ones you described. Time sure has flied since I sat down to a good round of board gaming with friends.

That is also provided that my friends can free their time up for board games as well. We are no longer young. Each of us has a different set of commitments and priorities now. Even our schedules are so vastly different these days. Arranging meet ups for a simple meal or coffee also takes months. I doubt it will be anytime soon that we will be sitting down for a good round of board games.

I have not come across this game Cranium before. But generally, I enjoy most board games. It is just that it is usually quite hard to find people to play with. :(

My husbands family love Cranium and we always play it when we get together (about once every year or two years). Pictionary is another favorite of ours too and I play scrabble online for fun.

I love Cranium! It's really funny you should mention that because that's the game I played (and won!) on New Year's Eve. I was at a super fun party. So obviously, I like that game. I also own Sorry Card Revenge. You can get it pretty much anywhere that sells board games. Basically, it's like Sorry only with cards instead of a playing board. Some of the moves and rules are similar to Uno, but there's a wicked twist to it. The pawn talks and tells you what to do! It's really cute. I highly suggest getting your hands on it and playing it. It's such a blast. I like Scrabble also and find it extremely addicting. I mostly play the online and computer game versions because they go a little faster, and I can get more playing time in. It's so much fun. It's really good for you, too, since you can learn new words and expand your vocabulary. I haven't heard of the game Sequence, but it sounds pretty fun! On New Year's Eve (at the party), I also played a game I'd never played before called Pigs. That's all. Simple as that. The only game pieces are two little, rubber pigs! They both have a dot on one side. You throw them like dice, and however they land determines how many points you get. As many people can play as you want, which is really nice. It's too much fun! The best part is that it doesn't take any brain power whatsoever unless you can't do the math in your head. I'm going to buy that game because I think it's a blast.
