Yuwie Scam!!

United States
January 6, 2008 2:19pm CST
This should end all discussions about "joining Yuwie.com... If you dont know what Yuwie is, its a social networking site sort of like myspace that pays you!! Sounds good huh??? Thats what i thought when i signed up for it. Honestly i signed up just because i thought i was gonna be getting paid.. they made it sound so good... " if the RSR is 50 cents and you get 20 refferals and they get 20 refferals and they get 20 refferalls and so on then youd make $4343435354" (crazy amont) .. lol.. but fast forward.. i spent a whole month on there changing my profile trying to make friends trying to get those refferals... I wound up with 13 refferals which i though was good enough... at the end of the month they show you how much you made... i couldnt wait... When i finally checked my earnings i was pissed!! i only made 13 cents.. lol... Let me break it down for you... Yuwie "pays" YOU for page views, and refferals i got 936 profile views (not including the profile views they add for changing your profile) i got 13 refferals and those refferals got me a extra 3,951 views so i had a total of 4,447 views the 936 got me 3 cents (wow huh) and the 3,951 got me 10 cents so i got a total of 13 cents.. And if you plan on getting on there to socialize then you will have a hard time finding people who actually talk on there.. most of the people are only on there for the money (as i was) Mylot is wayyyyyyy better bcause not only do you make wayyyy more money you have fun doing it... and thats what keeps me on here everyday... the cool people that hold interesting conversations... Conclusion: DONT GET ON YUWIE YOU WILL WASTE YOUR LIFE AWAY ON IT

I really think that everyone should read that discussion. There is so much website that are scam and that people realy don't know it. I never saw any proof of payment by anyone for that website. People where saying that it was better then mylot. They always said that when something new is coming, but Mylot is still there and still paying even if the earning for post have lower in 1 year.

I think scam is a harsh word but I agree My Lot is a better site to earn than Yuwie. I think I have one friend on Yuwie who isn't trying to sell me something. I even joined a few clubs, not even a view to my posts.

That's true, it sounds like you put a lot of work in there so you have right to be plenty mad at Yuwie. I think I have like 100 profile views so far so I'm definitely not expecting much.

this is my last comment about yuwie because there are pro-yuwies that are going out of their way to promote "big earnings" on yuwie and I dont want to get in a heated battle trying to debate them, I have come close to letting them know making any real monthly income on yuwie is a flat out lie, oh well, I went thru the same thing as you and quit yuwie long ago, I had 17 referrals and even they gave up, LOL

I joined Yuwie in the beginning, but was never active in it. I got an email a few weeks after I joined telling me that if I did not start being active that my account would be deleted. I let them delete me.

I joined yuwie via a referral from someone on mylot. however, I haven't had time to be active and now I have no intention of being active. All that pressure for nada? No way. Thank you for sharing the info.

I do agree with some of your comments. If you spend one-third of the time on MyLot posting as you spend on Yuwie, you will earn significantly more money. On Yuwie I usually average about 1,000 - 1,500 page views (last month I was in the 900 page view range) and in my 1st two months I only made .15. I've easily made more in one day on MyLot. With Yuwie, it's all about referrals, getting referrals etc, etc. They need to be working harder than you. I wish I had 13 referrals, I might spend more time there, but I have but 1 referral and he's not active. Yuwie, when done correctly can bring you a residual income as large as you want it to be.

Very true. But w/o referrals you will make next to nothing. My 1st month on Yuwie, I had over 2,500 views and the monthly # was something like .34, so for each 1,000 views, I received .034 cents and made .07 for the month. A person who I asked to be a friend, listed her downline. She personally had 19,000 views and she had referrals down to level 10. She made less than $3.50 total... with 19,000 personal views! Yes, she set herself up for bigger months by building her downline, but w/o an active downline, I don't care how many views you have, you will never qualify for a payout by yourself. If the monthly figure is .50, to earn a dollar, just by yourself, you would need 20,000 personal views to make $1.00. I still visit Yuwie, at least 4-5 times per week. I've made customers for my online shop thru Yuwie, so essentially, I have made money because of the site, even if indirectly. I certainly don't think that building Yuwie is easy and I like to think outside of the box. Yuwie is a great opportunity to anyone with the resources to build it very big. They will be the one's who will benefit greatly... unfortunately, too many people in my age range have already decided that this type of business opp doesn't work and won't even/or don't have the time to try it. It is what it is....

thanks for the response!!! Yea.. you can make alot of money on there if you were one of the first people on the site with 1000 + hard working refferals... But i doubt anyone on mylot fits that category..

I too joined Yuwie right at the very beginning. I too left Yuwie as soon as I saw what it was REALLY all about. It's about money NOT friends. How they can call it a 'socialising' site I have no idea. Viewing profiles is not what I call socialising. MyLot is a socialising site but it never gets promotes as such. I have made so many friends here (and I don't mean I have a long list of frineds - I mean I communicate with people). Unfortunately many people only tell half the story about things and the Yuwie story is one. In order tomake a lot of money you have to be amongst the first tohave joined or you have to have many many many referrals and that is not what I call fun. I told people here that I had left months back and I said the reason - nothing has changed in my opinion since then and never will. Long live myLot and the friendly people here!

I have to disagree. I am here though I never expect to make the payout. I am also on Yuwie with moderate hopes of reaching level 10. I have already (in 2 weeks time) spoken to 4 people on the phone in the States. One has asked for information on relocating (as I did) to Argentina. The other advised me on a very difficult situation I found myself in with my partner here. Flip the coin and I have many, many unanswered friend requests here. (no rejections on Yuwie) Don't get me wrong, I have a couple friends here on myLot, but it certainly is not as easy.

Great...I just did that, too. I signed up with Yuwie several months back, but now I have left it completely with the same reason as yours. I am now a certified mylot fanatic, not wasting my time on other sites which are only attractive at first, but you will find out later how lonely it is to be in Yuwie...

You forgot to mention how over the course of time the ways to earn on Yuwie are being taken away. First, they got rid of the videos, then he banned friend train sites that helped you amass lots of friends who might, if you're lucky, view your profile once in a blue moon, then they got rid of guest views. There are other examples but every time Korry looks at the page view situation and sees that people are figuring out ways...LEGITIMATE WAYS, mind you, to amp up their numbers he turns around and adds a new rule or discontinues paying out for X. It's a complete scam. Have a look at my site where I chronicle my experience. It's a real eye-opener. freewebs.com/bewareofyuwie

Hi there philly_9112003! I thank you for opening such topic as this for it could surely help a lot of people. I, for one, is a member of that site because I was invited by my friend, obviously for moneymaking. The biggest mistake that I have committed is that I didn't read their terms and conditions. You are indeed right because it is really very impossible to reach their minimum payout which is $20, correct me if I am wrong okay? Why it is very hard considering the fact that they only give their members a very few centavos per month. You would grow old in earning that certain minimum payout for that site. And again, you have a point. It is not actually a socializing site. People just joined that for money. It is so weird adding people whom you don't know in your friend list. I still have a lot of things to say, but I guess it would be better left unsaid. Until here and once again, thanks for making a lot of people aware what the site is actually is. Cheers my friend!

Philly, I spoke to someone with(527)and they have earned a total of 1.59 I have 60 or so posts and have .80 I don't get the difference. Where is the waaaay in way more money? I think they are both fun. I hope you didn't cancel yor yuwie account for your sake. You will reach level 10 and make money if you haven't canceled it. Level 10 would be reached with a minimum of 6000 people on it and triple the earning potential for views. I am not worried about page view and neither do I chase them. I have made friends because they accept the request, giving me the opportunity to converse with them. (I have a ton of unaccepted requests here though my post are decent.

I was a member of Yuwie for a couple of months when it first hit the internet. I found similar problems, no-one was holding discussions or thought provoking comments in my guestsbook. Instead I received dozens of sparkly graphics and the same people 'bombing' my guestbook everyday. I find these communities very annoying as I have not joined to receive pretty sparkly graphics!

Ya know I have no idea what the big deal ever was with Yuwie to be honest with you..I checked it out and just the "explaination" video annoyed me...I never did bother to join simply because it really does seem too good to be true and with the overkill of ppl pumping it I couldnt be bothered...After reading your post, LOL I'm glad I never did bother ;-)

I am not fond of yuwie but it seems like you are exaggerating a bit. I made .54cents my first month and I only have 4 referrals. I have met a few people from there I like to chat with though. I am not on there for the money anymore so if you are you will definitely be wasting time unless you do get 10000 referrals. I get lots of referrals for other sites on there though.
