Don't touch me!!

January 13, 2008 7:58am CST
I was out clubbing last night with a few friends. We're all dancing away, and the amount of guys who felt they had the right to touch me was unbelievable!! i was getting a bit annoyed to put it nicely. I realise that lots of people go to these places in the hope of meeting someone, if only for the night. But i don't think it's acceptable. I tried being nice about it but in the end, i got quite angry with some of them who just kept on! Whats your experiences of this, and how do you handle it? To the man and women out there who see everyone at clubs as a free for all-we're not! some of us do have respect for ourselves!

This kind of thing drives me crazy too. Some people would say it's just part of that whole scene, but it doesn't have to be. There's no reason we have to be subjected to anonymous pawing just because we're want to go out and have fun. I have to admit that I have gone to clubs specifically to meet people, but even then I've never felt like I could grope random people without proper permission. Granted, I usually only have to injure one person at a place before it gets around not to mess with me. I had a club I hung out at regularly (illegally) as a teenager, and no one there messed with me after the first time I broke someone's hand.

*laughs* I have to admit that sometimes I probably resort to violence too quickly when it comes to people touching me, but I have good reason considering my messy history. *shrugs* It works for me at least.

Sounds like you had a fun time! Was the fun time worth the hastle? If not, consider staying away from that club! An angry demonstration could spoil the evening for others who were not so "touchy!"

was still a good night, we all enjoyed ourselves. There were no sences made, just after politly saying please don't or removing their hands and still not getting the message, i faced square up to them and said, i've asked you to stop, do it again and i'll slap you! that was enough in the end.
