How close is the nearest store to you?

Across the street from me. - corner store

I'm very lucky since I don't drive there is a small corner store just across the street from me that takes all of 2 minutes for me to walk to. They have everything I could ever need and their prices aren't all that bad either. There is also another store about 3 blocks down from my apartment that I sometimes go to when I feel like I want to walk a bit further and they have practically the same prices and carry all the same items. Do you have a corner store near you that you go to often? Instead of driving to a store do you often walk to one?

loll...like you when I get the nerve I can walk to Walmart and I do when the weather is good. It's about 30 minute walk and great exercise for me.

We live right down town in our small little town, and pretty much right in the middle. So to walk to anything takes less then a half and hour. lol No matter where in town you wanna go. It works out for us pretty good since we dont drive. Now if only we had a walmart and a few more stores, i'd be set and i'd never have to leave.

On a good summer or spring day I can walk to a Walmart near me...it's a good 30 minute walk but I just consider it well needed exercise. I should do it more often than I do that's for sure.

The nearest store is about two hundred metres away from my house. It is a sundry shop where I can buy daily items from there. Though there are not many items sold there it still could serve my urgent needs.

There is a gas station that has some stuff even a deli section about 3 miles from here. The closest grocery store is 11 miles away. That is one of the things I hate about living in the middle of nowhere. Going to the grocery store is at least 45 minutes even if you only need a few things.

To me that would be the worst thing about living in the country. You have to learn to think ahead and always be prepared and that is just not me.

I have 2 stores close to me. one up the street. Maybe a mile away. The other is a little farther. 1 1/2 miles -2. Each take maybe five minutes total to get to. Have to say never tried to walk to them. They are both on busy street. Don't want to risk being hit by crazy drivers.

The street I live on is only busy during "rush hour" and I seldom go to the store at those hours any way. It's even better if when I cross I use the crosswalks...lol....

There is a grocery store right around the block from me. If it is nice outside and I only need a few things I will walk to save money on gas and get my exercise. Mcdonalds is just a block up from me to so sometimes we will walk up there to have lunch. With the price of gas you are much better of walking. Since you don't drive I am glad you have a store so close to you and you don't have to worry about the every increasing gas prices I can hardly affor to fill up my car anymore.

I can tell you that I am actually happy that I don't drive. Those gas prices are getting ridiculous! Going to the store is usually the only form of exercise that I get each day.

We have to drive to our nearest store, now that it is winter and all that snow is on the ground. It is about three quarters of a mile away. We used to go to Safeway which was a mile way for our groceries but now we go to Stupidstore , I mean, Superstore that has almost everything. We do have a Mall, but that is in the same general area but across the street from Superstore. In fact most of the stores are in the general area. If we go the other way, it is about a mile to 7-11, but most of what we go there for is when my husband buys lottery tickets, because the prices are a bit high and a block or two over is the Economart, another grocery store that things are a little cheaper, but it does not have much.

The closest grocery store is about 2 mile away.I can get a bus and get there, but it is a small store and it doesn't carry all the things I need so i go to a supermarket that is about 4 miles away. My sister has a car so we drive. But If i need something , I could take 2 buses and get there. And across the street from the store is a Target. So if it isn't at the Giant food store, I can get it at the Target.

I must admit that's one thing I miss since we moved last summer. I love life in the country but after years of living a short walk from stores, post office, church, parks, and library it's been a real adjustment for me along with the cost of gasoline I've gone to planning trips to town to do everything at once and certainly don't walk as it's nearly 10 miles to the nearest store of any kind.

I have a small store three blocks away but the prices are quite high. However, even though I have a driver's license I don't have a car so I depend on my daughter to take me to the grocery store. When I run out of an item like milk I will buy from the store that is close by even though it is more expensive.

Im lucky i guess, since he family owned a store...we sell good for daily needs and retails. When im in the city, we have smal store right next door also for daily needs..but if you have plan of going to supermarket and get some stuff for a week or month supply, we can take a walk for 15 minutes and were there..hassle free..

Like you I don't drive either..sure wish I did. I'm also luckier that within walking distance, both short and long I can walk to at least five large major different supermarkets, numerous veg/fruit stores, a few bakeries, delis..you name it

In my case also it is so. We have a market that sells all things just outside my home. There are also shops that we get the things we need everyday. Except some special type of things or clothes, we have to go at a distance place.

The closest store is a minute's walk away from my house with all essentials.I do prefer to walk longer and think of it as exercise too.
