Ron Paul: Truely an Advocate for the Constitution?

I like the fact that Ron Paul stands behind the Constitution and uses it to base his stance on the issues; but does he really, or is he just using this as a means to gain votes? With him falling so far behind in the polls (at least for now) do you think he has a chance at the nomination? At actually getting elected? I agree with a lot of his views on the issues and believe that he would be a good choice for getting America back on the right track. I also think it is time to put an end to the Bush/Clinton era that we seem to be living in and get some new blood in the White House. What are your feelings behind this candidate? If you do not support him, Why?

Anybody can look at Ron Paul's voting record the two terms that he has served in congress for the state of Texas and see that he consistantly votes against his own raises number one, he votes against higher taxes, against the war in Iraq, and Ron Paul also returns the money that congress allots him to run his congressional office instead of blowing the remainder at the end of the year. Since he has ran for President he is still carrying out his congressional responsibilities instead of blowing them off like others running for President. I think that if more people stand up and put Ron Paul's name out there he will have a chance to become President.

I really hope you are right. I like what he has to say, and his stance on the issues. I am just getting a little untrusting of campaign promises and strategies...so many candidates will say whatever is necessary to gain votes that it is hard to trust them. I agree 100% that Ron Paul, or a candidate like him is needed to turn America around. I really hope that he gets the nomination!

Well the thing is, is Ron Paul has stood behind what he has said for many many years if that doesn't show something for him I don't know what will, especially with all the other canidates constantly changing what they stand for to suit their campaign, but Ron Paul has not done that.

You are right, and that is one reason that I like him. I just hope more Americans give him a serious consideration and do not fall into the "Hillary Trap"; She is nothing but trouble for America!

I would suggest looking to Ron Paul's record in Congress to find your answers. He's known at "Dr. No" because he votes against congressional raises, raising taxes, the war, etc etc. His presidential campaign is following the same beliefs he has had during his terms as a congressman. His stances have not waivered. He may not get the nomination, but I will write him in. He's the only candidate I can vote for and walk away from the poll with a clear conscience. I can't vote for the person who is going to win just to feel like my vote did something.

That is so true, I also think that he would be the best choice for our next president. Hopefully it will not have to be a write in. Hopefully he will get the nomination and win the election as well.

I watched and listened to Ron Paul speak about ten years ago. He has remained consistent all these years. His consistency, the manner in which he votes in Congress, his courage in stating the truth rather than what he thinks the voters want to hear - these are some of the reasons why I respect and support Ron Paul.

I agree completely with you. I wish that I had been able to hear him speak. I would greatly enjoy listening to him. I also hope that he does manage to win the nomination and the election. Thanks for your response.
