Does your local library offer fun things for kids?

My daughter attended a program at our library today after school. It was called A Winter Adventure. They heard a story.made a craft, played a game and had a snack. Our library does these things quite often and they are always free.

I used to take my older kids to story time they loved it. My step-daughter was to old for story time when we got custody of her. She is becoming a great reader now though.

Yes our local library does the same thing. Though since my daughters are both grown it has been years since I took them to the library for these type of activities. I think it is an awesome program that they provide for the children.

I think anything that gets kids to read is a great idea. Our library really caters to the children. They have computers, video games, board games as well as books for them to use.

I'm not sure if the library in town does or not...most likely since the library in the other town near us does and I know that the one in Lockport (which is the better one of the three) has events and whatnot for the kids on Saturdays etc...

Our library is really nice for such a small town. They have a great summer reading program too.

That sounds like so much fun! I know our library has a story time every Monday or something like that. I'm not a parent so I'm not sure exactly when it is, but it sounds like a good idea. Yours sounds a lot better than ours though!

Libraries are great way to spend the day. I can use ours to read the paper, look at magazines, borrow movies and books as well as use the computers. I love going there.

Yes, I love my library. They have so many fun things for everyone. In the childrens' area they have a huuuuge stuffed dragon, and a mini-ampitheater for story time.

Ours has story time where volunteers come in and read a story. Sometimes area authors volunteer to read their books. Our library has a toy loan and auditory book (books on tape and CDs) that can also be rented.
