No Motovation!

Well just a couple of hours ago my two year old granddaughter left. I got her at three yesterday and she stayed overnight. First we played play dough....then we painted in her books...made projects in my stamping studio....baked Valentines cookies and decorated them...and much more today including shopping with her and going out for lunch. After she left I thought I would take a little nap because I did feel drained! And I thought when I got up I would be ready to get the house put back in order and get going on some of the things I need to get done. But after I laid down and took a little nap I have no motovation to get anything done but sit here at the computer! Do you have times when you know you should be getting something around the house done..or paperwork and you just can't find the motovation to get to it?

Oh yes indeed :)) I have found that often that afternoon nap makes it worse when I wake up to get back on my feet. I take care of my grand babies and their nap time is at 2:30. If we are home, Nana often will lay down with them. Shesh then when I wake up its a pain to find that motivation to get dinner baths and all of those things we have to do to prepare for the next day done. I would love to just stay in bed snuggled with them. But they wake up ready for the next part of the day with energy and joy.

Aren't they truly one of the greatest blessing we can have in life?

Sometimes. But whatever you want to do will be there when you get to it. It is worse when you have a time limit or whatever you want to do is due sooner than later. That's when you have to make you8rself do whatever it is. But if it is housework or minor paperwork, then it will wait. Taking care of your grandbaby is more tiring than you think. So if you feel like taking it easy, then why not. Whatever you were planning to do will wait.

I spent most of the day relaxing and it felt good. Also caught up on my sleep! I think in the long run if you just take time to relax you are actually more productive when you get rested up! Thanks for posting!

Oh yeah this happens to me also. I'm better off not turning on the computer bright and early. I get started on here with myLot and answering a few personal emails and then don't want to do anything else. When I do get a sudden burst of energy, I do the wash and hop right back on the computer. Oh how fun with your little granddaughter. Have you taught her how to use the computer yet? lol

Yes!!!! She got her own little one for Christmas but when she is here I let her play Word Whomp on Pogo! She loves watching the little gophers fly through the air! LOL

this is happening to me jill! it started yesterday and still happening right now. ^__^;; over the week i was planning how i will spend my weekend and i was supposed to wash my undies and reply to all my mails yesterday but i only ended up shopping and internet surfing. ^__^;; so i put off those chores yesterday and i added them to my list of things to be done today and yet, here i am logged on to myLot. LOL i'm giving myself 30 more minutes before i start off with my chores. i just hope i will have the motivation within that time. ^__^;;

i feel that way a lot - i think kids get their energy by sucking it out of us adults :) i have to force myself to do housework...i would much rather just catch up on sleep or working on my computer! it sounds like you are a fun grandma! I used to sleep at my grandma's house, those are some of the best memories of my childhood!

Grandkids can be a handful. I would imagine she just wore you out more than you realize. I have times when I didn't realize I was as busy as I thought, laid down and then I was done for the rest of the day. Just times when I just flat out don't wanna!!!! Unless it's something that can't wait til tomorrow, then relax and get a fresh start tomorrow.

Yea, I keep hoping against hope that I'll wake up some morning and the laundry will miraculously be done and put away, and the litter box has cleaned itself, but so far no luck!!!

I think that happens to all of us at one time or another. It does happen to me especially when the weather is damp and dreary. It does sound like you had a wonderful time with the grand daughter and just reading about all that ya'll did tires me out. I am not the type of person to take a nap and that alone would make me where I would not be motivated when I woke up. Just enjoy sitting in front of your computer, the work and other things will still be there later on.
