Eat something healthy before you go to bed. Maybe put a hot rag on your forehead. Turn the tv off and lights, well maybe keep a night light on but thats it.

I too have had periods of difficulty sleeping. Mainly because my mind just won't slow down! A couple of things that worked for me are a herbal pill called St John's wort (natural remedy and apparently like a herbal Prozac of sorts); and drinking chamomile tea an hour or so before I go to bed. This seems to help somewhat. Another thing I have been doing lately which is a little unusual but works every time; is that I lie in bed, lights off, and then I start with the letter A and try to think of both a man and a woman I know or have met whose name starts with that letter. I then picture their faces and then move to B and so on..... I have NEVER made it through the whole alphabet without falling asleep!!! Try it!

From what I can tell, I think you have too much on your mind! And the way to take some things off your mind are; a-If you have access to music, listen to your favorite music! b- If you have access to television, try to involve yourself watching television, until you get sleepy! c- Occupy or get involved in helping others, that may have problems, this will take a load off of you, and make you feel good about yourself! d-maybe some crafts or hobbies, like painting pictures, or playing games, or sports, that will make you get tired, therefore making you relax! e-since I am a musician, I personally suggest learning to play music on an instrument, that will help take some pressure off your mind!

I have also encountered same problem. All I do is set my mind, that I should sleep this time. I will close my eyes, and try to remove all the thoughts and worries I have and relaxed. I always see to it also, that I made a prayer before sleeping, this make me more secured and comfortable. You should also avoid drinking softdrinks, coffee at night time, because it has caffeine, instead drink milk.

Iv'e had troubles sleeping in the past and if there was ever one thing to regulate my nergy during the day it was jogging. I remember before i started jogging i always felt sleepy during the day and this would no doubt effect my sleep cycle. However after i started jogging in almost the same week i hardly felt sleepy during the day. This of course resulted in me getting better sleep and got me out og bad alot easier. Other things i could attribute to better energy levels are things like eating properly and avoding coffee. These are some of the things that worked for me and i hope itll help you. Hope u find a way to a better sleep.

Get those things that bother your mind when you’re on bed. Take a moment to relax yourself before lying down to your bed. Mostly it’s what bothers you the most. Also, taking a bath before sleep will help you get to sleep in a comforting way. Why don’t you try that, maybe it’ll help then?

Try some tea that has no caffine, chamomile works wonders along with a mint tea if you can find it or get it. Don't take a bath before bed. It heats the core of your body and that keeps you awake. Don't read anything directly before you go to bed because it keeps your mind working around the plot and everything. Hm..... lavender helps with calming you down to allow you to sleep.

You didn't go into much detail about what is causing you to lose sleep, cindy, but it could be just a matter of resetting your internal clock. I have to do that every now and then. You have to set a bed time that you can stick to for a few days, turn off anything that might intrude upo n your sleep, and soon you will be able to fall asleep with no trouble. I can drift off easily by singing to myself -maybe a beloved song from my childhood. I hope this helps.

A comfortable sleep is very necessary for mental and physical health. You told that you can not sleep. But you have not mentioned the reason. If there is some thing wrong in your body or in at least one part of your body, then it becomes very difficult to sleep well. You should look and come to know that what is wrong in your body. If there is problem in your stomach, for example, then you should solve that problem first and after then you try to sleep. Tension or depression also causes to not allow you to sleep well. You should try to sleep early in the morning and try to get up very early. This will also help you to sleep well. Your bed should be placed in calm and quit environment; if it is not kept in such place then you should change the sleeping place. Feel easy just before and after going to your bed. Stop thinking and worrying about some problem if you are facing. This may help you for comfortable sleep

Once have a time, no matter how much time I spend on sleeping I can not have a good one and feel tired all the day. Now I only spend nine hours in a day on sleeping, and stay still during the daytime. Though sometimes I am too tired to do something well, I now cal fall sleep easily when I went to bed. i do not think it is a good way to have a good sleep, but it really works.

I am a terrible sleeper so I am probably not the best person to be giving you advice. But I have found what has helped me to falling asleep is to read while I am laying in bed. This seems to make me drowsy enough to get my mind off my problems and let me fall asleep. Now my other problem is staying asleep. I wake up every 15 minutes or so and then it takes me another 10 minutes of reading before I fall asleep again. This is the kind of night I have every night except maybe once a month I get caught up and I stay asleep. I guess the body can only handle so much and then it needs to sleep so bad it shuts down.

better or worse sleep is based on your activities in the daytime, and based on social pressure and working pressure what you don't know even. it is the best way to change habit to improve status of sleeping, and have a nap at noon if you can for releasing bad pressure from your body, go to bed before 22:00, walking away from things you dislike, do more physical exercises, after doing these, better sleeping will come to you soon.

I often struggle with sleep too.. sometimes something sweet (sugar) will help put me to sleep.. but other times when it is worse, I will take a tylenol p.m. or a generic version.. or a sleep aid without the tylenol.. but taking two, or a 'full dose' will wake me later.. I started taking these off and on 15 years ago, and would take 1/4th of one pill.. now I take one, but have to quit completely for about two weeks every so often when I build up resistance and one pill only lasts about half a night. I probably need help sleeping about half the time. Sometimes I will leave a pill and drink close to hand and take the pill the first time I awaken in the night when I'm having a few days of trouble sleeping, if I have at least five hours of the night left.. I'm always trying to not have to take any pills.. Some allergy pills have the same drowsy inducing med as the tylenol p.m. - It's important to relax and unwind before bed, and not have thoughts on your mind.. - I should try a strong (small) cup of catnip tea before bed. As catnip sure puts my cat to sleep! Good luck!:)

Have you tried a glass of milk right before you go to bed? Or you could try watching some tv like an hour before bed to start relaxing. And if you tried all that then maybe you should talk to your doctor about it and maybe he can perscribe you some kind of sleeping pill to you help you sleep. You can also buy them in the medicine aisle at you local grocery store. You can also try laying in bed and reading a few chapters of a book you like.

You could try having a glass of milk or a cup of hot chocolate before you go to bed. Also check the temperature of your house or apartment, if you have it up too high that hinders sleep. Also cut out on your nap time, do not get on the computer before you go to bed, read a boring book. Go to sleep earlier then you do, and do not watch television. Also do not do any exercise at night, and if caffeine keeps you awake, then avoid coffee.

It really depends sweety on what is causing your sleep to be disturbed! In my case I suffer from chronic pain and even when I do manage to nod off I am awakened by the pain and not much helps except medication that literally knocks me out and I try to avoid that! Some things that may help are lavender oil or spray, chamomile tea, relaxation/breathing exercises - as I said it really depends on what is causing your lack of sleep! I hope you get a good sleep tonight and feel mmuch better! xxx

The main reason somebody can't sleep well is stress. There are a lot of things that are recommended to deal with stress. I try to do things I enjoy doing in order to relief stress and sleep well.
