In december I reached 50 years of age I joined AARP, not sure exactly what the AA stands for but the RP is retired people. You don't have to be retired to join, and it is helpful for those over 50 in many ways. I just got my first copy of the AARP magaziine, it is a full magazine similar in size to people or us or newsweek. It's a news and entertainment and a bit of politics added. Bringing together information that we need in one place. It wasn't until just before my birthday when I went about some banking and they suggested the 50+ account that there are many things that are available for us. Discounts and benefits. To tell the truth I am actually feeling better now since my birthday, even though not much has really changed. I think I may have just given myself a new better attitude.

AARP stands for American Association of Retired People. After 55 you get discounts at some restaurants and then after you hit 60 you get discounts almost everywhere......:-) Of course I'm telling my age now...oops...hehehe
