What is going on with some of the members here lately?

You have to check out some of the profiles and the discussions that they write. One person has written from the point of view of being a wife, husband and young single girl...all on the same day. Another one has been pregnant and in another discussion is worried because "he" got someone pregnant! My question is why do people feel they have to do things like that? Who cares if they are male or female, married or single? Does it provide some sort of fun to them? In one of the discussions the writer was found out almost immediately and hasn't bothered to respond to any more of the responses he received in the discussion so I'm hoping he's gone away with his tail between his legs...lol...NOT...I'm sure he feels no shame and just sits there and laughs because people responded with real feeling for his problem and I think that's taking advantage of all the good members on mylot.

I have heard about this but haven't seen it so outright yet. I have felt some people had the weirdest discussions lately and they had contradictions. It is sad because it will make members stay more within there friend circle and not branch out more to ones we don't know in case they are being deceptive. I will have to check more profiles for people I don't know more now. I used to see discussion like If you were a ... what would you do? I knew they weren't a ... but just put it out there along with 100 other discussions just like it. I didn't stay friends with that person for sure. Hope it goes away soon. I hardly ever have time to get here anymore and don't want to get the junk, but actually chat with friends. Vicki

Is it possible that some are typos (highly unlikely I know) or maybe its more than one person sharing the account..LOL I dunno..I'm trying to be fair here...go with it its rare LOL... Seriously though the only reason I can think of is either they really need that "penny a post" OR they REALLY need psychological counseling LOL

Ravenladyj I agree with you. What the heck started the other comment jumping on you? I do not see anything you have said in this response that could upset anyone unless of course they have a guilty conscience.

hi there! i was caught off guard there and started checking myself...lol you see, i may have posted stuff now that i married, but i still post writings from when i was single. sometimes, i indicate that i wrote that piece several years back, but sometimes i don't, so i guess that makes people wonder, huh? but not gender changes, okay. lol anyway, sorry for that. if given the chance again, i wil really indicate when i wrote the piece. thanks and God bless! :-)

I actually DID tell the person in a response. After I did that the person didn't respond to any of the other responses.

A case like yours is very different. You were single and then you weren't. You are still writing from the female point of view and not changing back and forth.

Gabs that is the reason that for a few months now I usually on respond to discussions posted by my friends. I any of my friends were to pull that crap they would be off my list in an instant.

I guess these guys are always going to be popping up and I too have to learn to stay away from their discussions and feeling bad for them.

I imagine some are too unfamiliar with the language to be able to make a coherent discussion that will elicit responses...so they copy and paste discussions from other sources as though they are the author. sadly these are usually emotional or tragic dilemas as they garner the larger replies - but these upset us more when found out because we invested our concerns, compassion and assistance - only to be what we think is laughed at. still we can take heart because someone who might be facing a similar situation as the original discussion portrays can be assisted and comforted by your efforts.

grandpa Bob you sure have that right! The oddest discussions get the most responses and I think that's because those people have a large circle of friends here who are as silly as they are.

I'm not really sure why people do that..all that the people that I have met on mylot.com and they have all tried to help me with all of the questions I have had...so I don't see why anyone would want to take advantage of any of the people on mylot.com....To answer another question you had i don't know why people put things from different peoples point of view...I think that if you ask a question it should be something that everyone can gain something from!

I could be wrong but the majority of members only post about real things that happen to them and not made up stories.

Some users, if they are not good with English can be guilty of saying him for her or he for she, but they do not claim to live in Hong Kong and New York City, and Boston, with their mother in law and their boyfriend and a girl who is their fiance. I am not kidding, I met at least one user who did this. I questioned them and they quit posting.

To some people that penny post is worth a lot I guess. They manage to figure out how to cut and -paste, then plagiarize discussions from other forums, never bothering to keep things consistent. Some that I have met never even blush or honor your responses, until they get reported so much they get banned. Then they probably just come back as someone else.

I admit that penny is very important to me but I'm smart enough to come up with my own ideas for discussions and have never been dishonest in anything I've said. I have no reason to be.

In all actuality I don't look at others pages too often. Especially ones that aren't on my friends list. I just respond. There's way too many pages to look at each one I respond to. Especially with dial up access. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

you got that right about dial up access! I "suffer" the same inadequate service. Well, mine is really bad getting only 26.4 kpbs. my son said I need to get a new modem and that will boost the speed.

I don't know why people do things like that. I guess all they care about is the money they are making. I guess they just try to make more by telling lies and acting like other people. At least we do still have some honest people like you and many others here though.

It is taking advantage of mylotters but i can tell you why they do it, this is just my thoughts i could be wrong but i think they just make up stuff just to start a discussion..It does not seem right but i do believe that they do it...I have caught things like that before with certain people..I even had a person tell me once that what they said they just made it up because they felt it would make a good discussion..They sent me a private message..I did not respond because what could i say, i was shocked..That person is no longer on mylot thank goodness...I mean anyone can sit and think up some out landish story, it would be a lie but all they are looking for is something to discuss so they can make money..I feel sorry for those kind because they are only hurting themselves in the long run, and as they make up stuff and lie they are just digging the hole of deception deeper and deeper....

Wow....he/she must have really been feeling guilty to actually pm you and tell you the truth! I know a lot of people have been banned from here....even I was at one time but when I came back I made sure everyone knew who I was previously since the reason I was banned wasn't exactly my fault but I dealt with it.

I saw some of these, the first one being that he got his mother-in-law pregnant. I then read some of the responses and saw the responder that busted him. From there I looked at the person's profile and saw these other discussions that are in question. I didn't bother responding to any of them because to me it is a waste of time to do so. It sounds like this person just wants to get people on here riled up with his stories (which are most likely made up). Maybe he gets off on it, who knows?

As much as I hate to have to say it, ctry, I have been "touched" by some people here on myLot lately that made me go away with the feeling that I needed a good bath. I don't know where these creeps are coming from, but they must have an agenda. I think it goes in cycles -they have to try everyone's patience to get a rush. I don't take kindly to rude or ill-mannered people who don't know where to draw the line. I really would prefer these people not even respond to one of my discussions. My feelings have been bruised and that is why I have been staying away -but, no more. I'm tired of these sickos and I refuse to just lay down and take it any longer.

Most of us have been taken in by them from what I have seen and I could kick myself after I've tried to help as much as I can and then find out that it was a scam. We can't let these people keep us from doing what we enjoy doing and have to start ignoring them.

I have to admit that when I first join MyLot my fiance and I use to share my user name. I didn't have a paypal account when I first joined and wasn't sure if I was really interested in staying for long so my fiance said that I could just use his. We have both posted under this name at one time or another. Sorry if it was confusing for anyone. He has since gotten his own user name.

I bet you did not post sensational weird things and neither did your fiance. I have seen the kind of posts that our friend is talking about, and like some of the others who have responded, I have confronted those people, and I have also reported them. I do not think anyone who is posting here to this discussion is guilty of this kind of nonsense. You would probably have to see it to believe it.
31 Jan 08
I have to say that i have found that one aswell and i have also just read a discussion where a lady has admitted that she has lied in nearly every discussion that she has wrote, but i say good on her because at least she has been honest and admitted it thou

These must be very sad lonely people who have no life in their world so have to make up a fantasy world. It is a shame that they con others into trying to give an honest response to a non existing problem.

I think those people just try to get as many responses as they can. I dont see much point in lying. Its better to be honest as you can be, or avoid questions you dont want to asnwer rather then make thigns up. Its hard to keep track of lies upon lies!!

I guess they are just bored and have nothing else to write about. It's pretty silly if you ask me. I don't understand why someone would pretend something that is not true. I will start paying more attention because I haven't noticed anything weird like that yet. Have a great day.

I think some people just post anything here just to get their numbers up. Some people just don't care what they put here, they just want to make money. I just take it all as a grain of salt, so to speak, and just ignore the ones I have nothing to say to. I really don't care if people are lying or not, as long as I can respond to it. Is that not why we are all here, to make money. Yes, it is nice to just enjoy the site and read a lot of other people's opinions, but really, when it comes down to it, we all joined at some point to make money. So I just let those people alone and I just post where and what I can.
