Rachael Ray, Giada, Paula Deen or Sandra Lee?

I love the food network! I would have it on 24/7 if my boyfriend would let me :) Who is your favorite food network star? I only mentioned some of the ladies here, but I also love Bobby Flay and Emeril, Mario, etc. I used to hate the Iron Chef, but have really grown to like it a lot! Giada has a terrific recipe with whole wheat linguini, green beans, ricotta cheese, sun dried tomatoes and pine nute! OMG! You'll LOVE IT! How often do you try the recipes you see on the food network?

Paula Deen is the funnest to watch! I love her cooking and it is nice to use butter if we want to and cook "regular" foods that are always enjoyed. ! Rachele Ray is wacky and chatty and makes fast easy meals - makes cooking so much fun without all the long ordeal it can be sometimes. Sandra Lee - she is interestig to watch - she comes up with some great things, fun creative, even kid oriented and just incorporates a full meal which is nice to see how it all comes together so easy. Giada? You mean "cleavage girl"? I can't stand watching that one. Why? well first I get disgusted at having to see her cleaveage ALL THE TIME! Her low cut, tight fitting tops and always right in your face. Ever notice that whatever she reaches for ... ingredient, tool..anything....it is always IN FRONT of her.. never to the side or behind, always in front.... so she has to lean forward....hum...wonder why? Maybe your boyfriend would let you watch more cooking shows if you watched Everyday Italian with Giada! Second reason I don't like her show is cause she just seems to make things that are just not what a normal, everyday, housewife, working kind of person would make. Granted, that is just my opinion, but I have forced myself to watch the show just to learn about italian cooking, but it just wasn't enough to make me sit through "her". I love Bobby Flay, especially the Throw-Down shows! Those are so much fun! I dont' care much for Emeril, and I realy enjoy the NExt Food NEtwork Star reality shows! Those are so much fun. Just recently watched the Next Iron Chef and that was really good. Barefoot Contessa is another one that is always on, but to me is so boring - that woman just doesn't have any "life" to her.

HA! I am laughing out loud! Yes, my boyfriend indicates the serious boogage with Giada! She has one dish that I really like and tried. I usually take in the shows and make my own twist on things. If you do like Italian, look up her Whole Wheat Linguini recipe. I think you will like it! Paula Deen is real fun to watch, I love her too, my boyfriend can't take it........Sandra Lee I think attributes all of her ideas and creativity to her grandmother, that's sweet. Bobby Flay's throw downs are a hoot! I love to watch those as well. He actually came to Columbus, Ohio (real close to me) for the Blondies.........Brownies, but blonde. Had I known, I would have gone, but Bobby forgot to send me an invitation. I guess it got lost in the mail. Ina Garten the Barefoot Contessa, I watch, but you are right, she seems a bit tired. The Next Iron Chef was real good and the Next Food Network Star was real good too.

I love Paula Deen. I've tried a few of her recipes and they always are a hit. Too bad the recipes are so high calorie and high fat. I love looking at her new kitchen and I used to get such a kick out of seeing that old dog strolling by when she was cooking. I think she has gotten a little too commercialized now - she's doing cruises, cookware, etc, etc., but aren't they all? I like Emeril as well. I think I could make some of his stuff too. Oh, for a family that would eat something a tiny bit different or with an onion or garlic included in the recipe. Oh, and I will agree about "Miss Cleavage". One look at her show was enough!

Oh, I will pick on Giada. No one should be that slim and be on Food Network. Okay, Sandra is on the slim side too, which may be why I don't watch her as much either.

You're funny! I am beginning to loose my waistline, perhaps I am watching it too much. Or, maybe it's the chocolate cake I made the other day. No one is eating it except for me! Giada is very thin, Sandra Lee too, but their recipes are quite good. Sandra Lee is right, all American households cut corners when ever they can and if she can help with semi-home made ideas, good for her!

Oh man Emeril is by far my favorite. In fact he is my hero. Kinda Sexy for a big fella. My husband is crazy for Rachel Ray, he sits and drools when I have her on. I have to hand him a kleenex, and lift his chin from the floor occasionally. All that aside I watch the food network on the weekends and I too love it.

I love Food network, too! I think my fav show is Paula's homecooking or Paula's Party. I like watching shows around dinner time, and then going straight into the kitchen with a fresh idea from a show I just watched. :]

That's a good idea. I do that too. I actually asked for, and received an under the counter tv for Christmas. I still have to get it hooked up, but can't wait to actually watch the food network in my own kitchen! I wanted to put the tv above the top oven inside of a cabinet, but due to popular opinions that the steam from the stove may interfere or damage the tv, I have to pick another spot.

I've certainly enjoyed reading all of these responses! Wish I had something new to offer, but I don't have cable, so I have never seen ANY of these people except for Rachael Ray on her regular network show and Bobby Flay on, I guess, the Early Show on CBS. Now I know what I'm missing. Wahhhh!

Aackkk! My chocolate stash is almost empty and I really didn't want to go shopping today. This chocolate cake talk is making me change my thinking.

I didn't make the cake, I just made that real quick fudge that mom told me about a couple of years ago. crunchy p-nut better and triple chocolate icing......i licked the spoon, so I'm good for now, but there is an entire pie plate in the fridge.

Well, each month when I pay the cable bill, sometimes I wish I did not have cable either :) There is a show on chocolate treats on right now.......yes, I'll make a cake here in a little while!

Rachel Ray is my fav. I also love her talk show. I watch her every chance I get ! She's got some great recipes and stuff. Only wish I could afford her cookware and cookbooks. One of these days I will, esp if I keep posting here. Maybe that should be my goal... post in discussions to earn enough to buy that stuff. ;)

That's a good goal! I bought her oval, orange coated, cast iron pot at Kroger, it was on sale for about 40$. On her website, it was about double that! Check around where you live. Do you have a Kohl's? They had all the food network stuff for about 50% off a couple of weeks ago. I am sure that sale will be back sometime soon. I watch all of her shows too. Some of the recipes, not for me, but her energy is addictive.

The closest I get to cooking is heating up frozen pizza but I do like cooking shows. I haven't watched in a long time but back in the day, my favorite was Miss Paula Deen.I liked how she had fun cooking her dishes and that most of the recipes had a memory linked to them.I loved her stories. Now I see she is cooking in front of a live audience. I haven't tried the show. I like her in her own kitchen with just her and the cameraman.

Yes she really does deserve it. Did you see her wedding a few years back? It was so wonderful.

Her kitchen is to die for! That house too, right on the water in Savannah, GA. I love her shows too, she does have a lot of fun, and deserves it! She has come a long way and has worked hard for what she has!

I like Paula Deen's homecooking. I like her southern accent. I also like Anton Brown. He makes cooking so scientific. He's a funny guy.
