Some responses make me want to bang my head on the wall.

The majority of responses on my discussions are well thought out, but on occasion I get a response that makes me scratch my head, or just baffles me. Sometimes they are just presumptious, considering these responders (which I noticed are usually new members) don't even know me. Sometimes I wonder if they actually read the discussion or just answer whatever in hopes of getting paid for their short one-liners. And I know it's not just me, I see responses like this on other people's discussions too. I feel that if someone doesn't have something to really add to the discussion then they should just move on. I don't answer discussions unless I have something relative to say, I think out my answers before answering, and I guess I just expect the same from others.

Well, that's the problem with having a discussion with the whole world - you get all types of responses. But I think those who are most serious about the actual topics being dicussed are the ones who stick around the longest. The ones who are only looking for a quick buck will quickly become impatient with how long it takes to build up money and go elsewhere seeking their fortunes. Admittedly I came here looking for an easy way to make money because I'm in debt over my head, but I chose to stay because I like the discussions. It's nice to interact with like-minded people on a daily basis. -Tink

I totally agree with you. The little money we make here does weed out the ones that really don't want to make an effort to become part of the community.

Yeah, this is very common sight here. There are responders who just respond with just one liner to the topics or posts and don't even give explanation for their response. I guess these people are just in a hurry posting just for the few cents they will earn in myLot.

Some don't seem to realize that they really don't earn when they post one-liners all day.

well,it is very stupid to expect sensible responses for every member here.it is not a big deal....it is well and good as long as they are tidy in there writings and dont cross the limit.that happens to everybody.some people come here just to make money and write things which cannot be related to the topic.so dont worry about that....just keep posting discussions....you will get enough good, well thought of responses and keep aside the wrong ones.

I know it's really not a big deal, just once in a while there is a response that really just gets to a person.

There're really this kind of things. And I hate it,too. But there's also another occasion. Before,I used to say a lot as a reply. But I couldn't deliver it successfully because the wire speed is too low.Sometimes I even have to type the answer for 3 times so that it can be posted. Before your rating reaching 500,you can't copy your answer that is not posted successfully. That's really annoying.

I'm new, but I agree with you completely. I respond to every single response I get to my discussions and in doing so sometimes don't know what to say, when people are completely off base. I do appreciate those, however, that come back and realize their mistake and own up to it. I've had several people to do that and I have alot of respect for those who can admit that no they didn't read the material completely and offer to make it right.

I try to respond but I don't always have the time, but I do make an effort when I can. Sorry I didn't respond right away yesterday, but I had to get to work, I was almost late since I just couldn't seem to pull myself away from mylot. LOL

I just came back to check on Mylot tonight, and to see a post like yours was very heartening. The lack of coherence in some people's answers (not to mention the atrocious grammer and spelling, though those could be excused sometimes) drove me away from this site. Off-topic: Thank you for letting me know that there are still sane people here who have noticed such a trend.

Well being sane does have it's good points, although I am sure some would question whether I am or not. LOL

how is it - cute
I think you are very very correct.even i have faced the same problem where people just answer in one liners.what they fail to understand just giving one liner answers can never help to enhance their earnings.but now i think its a better state than how it was earlier.

I hope i'm not one of your guilty ones but I know that I often get on here late at nite after work and sometimes read the post really quick and respond. Someone is usually quick to call on me if i've missed some important bit of info.

There are a few times responses do that, but in some cases its just due to disagreement. Obviously there are tther and more frequently occuring responses that are completely off topic, those that prove they didn't read the topic, those that post something inane/asinine, those that insult other members or the discussion starter.

Yes, it is really obvious at times that someone didn't read it through or just want to post to make money. And I think people should really think before they post something insulting.

Good and bad apples in every barrel. I know what you mean. I try not to let it bother me. The way I see it, the ones who submit these one line answers aren't going to be worth the time to be angry. I try and ignore them. It will only take them a short time to discover that Mylot isn't what they assumed it to be. Most will probably leave soon anyway. Don't bang your head on the wall. My suggestion? Take a ball throw it against the wall. Pretend its them! Lol Never know might help:)

Yes, you are absolutely right at your place my freind and I am glad that you started this discussion! I also sometimes feel as same as you feel. Honestly speaking, I dont get many responses on my discussions but still some of them irritates me a lot. According to me also, you should not respond to a discussion on which you dont have any thing to say. This irritates me a lot. No problem how many responses you get provided they should be of good quality and to the topic. Five to the point responses are better than twenty useless responses..... I never respond to the discussions that are not of my type and on which I dont have anything to discuss. I always think twice before responding to discussions. I have even got 'YES, I LIKE IT' and 'NO, I DONT' as a response in one of my discussions. I think this is useless. People who respond like this are basically new to Mylot or they just want to respond to as many discussions as possible so that they can just make more money. Mylot is not only for making money but instead I think we should enjoy here too. Money is not everything...... Hope to get some intresting and responses to all the discussions after posting this! Well, I am realy realy sorry if anyone felt that I was rude.....

Well I certainly didn't take you as rude, but honest. And right, and I too would prefer a few really good, well thought responses than a hundred senseless ones.

I see this quite a bit with newbies as well. But I have also noticed a few with high numbers that either misread the original post or got lost midway through their response. I try to think out what I am going to say before I start typing like you, but not everyone does. And not everyone reads all of the responses. I am guilty of not reading all of the responses if there are like 2 or 3 pages of them. I assume that someone at somepoint has already said something similar to what I said. What makes me scratch my head are the discussions started that are basically just talking about a subject, but they don't really touch on a specific question. It's like you're just not sure what they are asking.

Sometimes it is really hard to read all the responses especially like you said when there are multiple pages. But most of the time, if someone reads through the discussion and the first few responses they should have a good idea of what the discussion is about.

LOL I think I just read the response that started your discussion. I will say though that (as a pretty new user myself) it is hard to know right when you start what mylot is all about. I think most people come here from a link for making money and don't read a whole lot before they start posting and responding. I must admit I made a few mistakes in my first few posts and responses not realizing what mylot was all about and how great most of the members are. As for the response I read, that was pretty bad.I probably would have ignored that one LOL

Well I had two responses recently that made me feel this way so I am wondering which one you read. One was so off base not to mention insulting and the other well...the person who wrote it must live under a rock.

I agree with you 100%, and there is a part of me that wants to say that this is a drawback of having a "pay for posting" system--it makes people want to post even when they have nothing to say. However, I think there's a lot more to it than that because I have been on the Internet since the early 90s, and I've seen a lot of moronic posts on what they used to refer to as "bulletin boards" online--long before anyone was getting paid for it. I suspect that just as there are people who like to hear themselves talk even when they have nothing to say, there are also people who like to see their words in print, even when they have nothing to write. That and the fact that there are a lot of people in this world who have computer access and are simply not too bright.

Yes I have seen that too in forums and bulletin boards, so it's not just here.
