I am sometimes miffed when a movie that comes out that I really want to see (enough to pay the money) comes out as PG-13 when it could have well enough had a little extra F-bombs or violence to tip it over to a rated-R; and now on DVD we see all these UNCUT or UNCENSORED versions of films the way they were supposed to be. The problem I have is when I go to the movies I want it to be a relaxing experience without any kids. Not to kid bash, but having teenagers throwing popcorn or babies crying in the middle of a movie just ruins the experience for me. I sometimes go in the middle of the day (which is cheaper and when the kids are in school) or the latest showing they have during the week. NEVER during a Friday night. What about you? I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject.

I just wait until they are on DVD or on TV unless it is one that my grandson just has to see and can't wait. The last time I did go to a movie was when my daughter and I took my grandson. So far my grandson is very well behaved in the theater, he is so drawn into watching what he came to see. LOL I do agree with you, there are times when babies cry and kids act up and even when adults act like kids. So that is why I watch at home unless it is something specail my grandson wants to see when he is here visiting or when I am visiting them.

I agree with you. For the most part I wait until they are on DVD. I have a 50" TV with surround sound so it is pretty close to being in the movies and no one to bother me. Thanks for the response. Zelo

As a parent, we don't go to the movies much anymore because of the price. Thankfully, when we do go my girls have been brought up to be quiet and be respectful. It's funny they look at the kids being goofy and just shake their heads. But I know what you are saying, people are just rude now a days. I never did understand taking a baby to the movies. I know some movie theaters have baby days so that the mom's can come and watch a movie. It is clearly explained so everyone knows that this particular showing will have babies in attendence.

I have heard of baby days before like on Wednesdays in the afternoon or whenever it may be and I think that is a great idea. Isn't that incredible that when children are reared properly they look at other children and know they are just being.... silly. Way to go I applaud you. Zelo

I just open that when my oldest starts going out with just her friends, she will still behave that way! I'm hoping she will.

yes, i don't go to many movies at the mall but the new movie house is very updated. the seats are more comforatble but the price even for seniors is six fifty..and popcor is five bucks or more...so i only see the movies in the after noon and sometimes then night shows (same price) but i miss the part where i can pause the scene and go to the comfort room...and since the weather has gotten very cold..i just go to the YMCA for exercise, swimming, sauna, and whirlpool and maybe the library to read papers and get free DVD or to get online as hey have six computer that are free..its all good and the cheaper the better..as time is money

For what my YMCA is charging here it would actually be more inexpensive to go to the movies... getting a little out of control. But I do understand what you are saying. The PAUSE button is great and when you are watching with friends you know when you can start yelling and screaming... a lot less inhabitions then sitting quietly at the theatre... and if you miss something just go back a few frames. Thanks for the post. Zelo

I don't frequent the theaters and never have. But I have gone enough times to realize that especially in theaters showing PG13 and lower ratings movies, that there seems to be an undue vie for attention from the younger viewers. For whatever reason they think the theater is the place to show off just how immature, retarded and disrespectful they can be. I'm not bashing being a teenager at all. I was one hell of a handful when I was a teen too. But back then it seemed as if we didn't want to be caught or otherwise bothered by the adults. So we picked venues/areas where there were minimal numbers of adults so we could act up as much as we pleased. The LAST thing we wanted was some "ahole" telling us what we can and can't do. That was the point of being a teen it seemed. Rebelling for our right to be free. Getting busted interfered with that. Wrong kind of attention. But as with all things, time changes them. It is now a big deal to get your name in the paper being busted for something. I think this is what fuels todays teenagers. As for babies crying, that used to be such a HUGE embarrassment to parents that they immediately did what they could to stop the crying. I remember some would walk out of the movie so as not to ruin it for the others. But once again, time has changed things. Apparently it is no longer cool to be a parent. Just pop them out and go about life as if it never happened. If somebody else doesn't like it - too bad. See you in court. So for me, the ultimate solution is to wait for the DVD. Cheaper anyways.

AH, yes, the pg-13 conspiracy! And I think it is too lol! Hollywood knows that pg or pg-13 means more butts in the seats, therefore more money. That is why I respect directors who refuse to throw away scenes to get the rating lowered from an R. Especially horror movies! I don't need "jump" tactics....I want blood in them lol! I like the big screen experience, but have a large DVD collection. I buy at least one a week. I love the special features and commentaries! :)

I really didn't know if I would like the commentaries that come on 'special' DVDs but it is really interesting to know what the director was thinking when a scene was shot or what scenes needed to be deleted and why... too long or it took away from the core of the movie or whatever.... Great response. Zelo
