I feel old to know that my favorite song Thriller is 25 years old. I also like many other songs made in the 1980's. Is your music taste modern or do you prefer music from the past?

Yes, love 80's music! Well, thrash and metal, hard rock and such. I keep a turntable hooked up in the living room and listen to my old records all the time! I'm only 22, and most of the music I love is older than me. Oh well, doesn't hurt anyone. But I must say I cannot stand most of what's popular today! I'm definitely digging some of the newer underground metal. I love the strong independent metal community where I live, and all over north America.

I am with you. I prefer music from the past. Nice and easy music does it.

When I think about what I listen to most, which by definition must mean that it is my favorite, it is a '70s -'80s station on Sirius radio. I do however like some of the newer music, but not all of it. I do not care for rap or country. I like some of the hip-hop and some of the current 'rock' music. You mentioned Thriller, that was a song to which I danced the night away on many occassions during my college years!

I do have a modern taste, and yet I also have my taste for past music. Punk rock has only been around since the late 1970's. Ska music falls in the same time zone. So yes, I do listen to modern punk/hardcore/rock, but I still listen to old school punk/hardcore/rock which all sounds the same sometimes but todays modern field of punk rock has found a melodic niche that their forefathers struggled to find. I also have a soft spot for mid 1980's gansta rap for some reason. I love listening to NWA, Dr.Dre, Public Enemy etc. So that is another kick to the past taste there because I can't stand the modern rap scene. So basicly, I go both ways in the modern/past music scene.

I'm older than you :) I like classical music. Chopin, Liszt, vivaldi.... My favourite singer is pavarotti.

It's a bit of both for me. I feel that there are just some things I like that can't be found in another song.

The 70's and 80's are my kind of music, Skyhooks, Daddy Cool, Dragon etc. etc. But having had a son in a band and the music they played I must say there were a few songs I did enjoy, but most I could no understand the words to (maybe for the better!) lol and a lot of screaming.

Basically I wouldn't give you tuppence for the music they make today, I don't like any of the modern stuff, most of my music tastes are from the 80s to me the greatest music decade of them all. I love pop music, all my cd collections are from the 80s, I always listen to the 80s on Itunes on my computer. Groups like Aha, Duran Duran, Level 42, UB40, Fleetwood Mac, Eurythmics I could go on and on oh and Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music!

Eh, some of mine are much older than that. I'm pretty fond of classical, and I listen to a lot of traditional songs from different countries, particularly Celtic music. :P I also listen to a lot of music that my dad listened to, so lots of 60's and 70's stuff, even though I wasn't born until 1980. Stuff from the 80's and 90's that I remember because of events surrounding the songs stick with me sometimes too. I suppose you could say I listen to just about everything, to be honest. I get picked on a lot at work because I know almost all the songs on the oldie's station but very few on the modern stations, when we listen to the radio. :P

Give me music from the fifties and sixties anyday. I guess I'm just an old rocker at heart.

I like a little bit of all music; new artists like Gwen Stefani, and sublime, underground music, and 80's and oldies music like the Beatles and The Cure.
