What If Jesus Christ Himself refuses Calling Him a God ?

It is quite Clear in the Bible that Jesus Christ refused calling him Good let alone calling him a God, Luke 18:18-20 (KJV) (18)And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? (19)And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. (20)Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. Mark 10:17-19 (KJV) (17)And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (18)And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. (19)Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. Matthew 19:16-18 (KJV) (16)And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? (17)And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (18)He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, How do you think that the one who refused calling him good and told you that "there is none good but one, that is, God" will accept calling him a God ?

I think this is a good question. However, I do not believe you can dissect the Bible as you have done and use a handful of quotes. You have to look at the work as a whole. Why would Jesus do anything "God" requested if he did not believe that "God" was god or the right person to be following? Personally, I think that the Bible is a great book, a good story, that people have decided to attach to because it is a good book, that, that the time seemed to answer many questions people had. You can not pick it apart to find answers or use certain quotes to prove a point. One must look at the entire work for the Bible to make any sense.

No that you should read the entire work and comment on that, not pull out small quotes for different chapters of the Bible.

Jesus is the Son of God and we are heirs with him still in spiritual embryonic form. He is the only one born now. He wanted us to understand that there is only one supreme God above all Gods and that is his Father and ours. It is like this. If your a parent your always still going to regard your dad as somewhat superior to you and older and wiser and worthy of honor above your own. However this does not lessen or take away the fact that you grow up and may become a parent yourself. Your father respects that and expects it but both of you know he is always going to be older and wiser and greater than you in that he is your dad and the same will happen with you and your children and you will teach your children that your dad is very important and even more honor and greater honor than you are. That is how it was and is with Christ Jesus.

this is the great mystery of the Church. God will alway deny that He is God that is the sign that He is God..I Am I am.. as you believe you will receive..Jesus was just being modest for His Father already created the entire universe and is the Alpha and the Omega..

Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi. He knew that there was only one true G'd, and that there could be no gods before Him. Therefore, Jesus knew that he was not a god. He could not be a god because he read the Torah and understood the Word of G'd. Nowhere in the Torah does it say or imply that there would ever be another G'd besides G'd. You can pull out bits and pieces and twist passages and missquote anything, and make it say what you want it to. But, if you read the Torah as it is written from the Hebrew, and do not misstranslate it, then you will know that there are no predictions of a son of G'd or other gods that we are supposed to worship before Him. Quite the opposite is true. Those who worship other gods before the true G'd are comdemned. So, Jesus was right not to claim to be a god! Shalom~Salaam~Peace

Adoniah, I agree that Jesus was a rabbi. But according to the New Testament's record Jesus followers worshipped Jesus. And it also recorded that Jesus claimed equality with God. Paul was a learned Jew, John was a Jew, Peter was a Jew, Matthew was a Jew, and so were Mark, Silas, Stephen and almost all early Christians... and they all affirmed Jesus divinity. Why on earth do you think they redefined their monotheism Christologically? For the Christians if Jesus was not divine everything collapses. I do not want to affirm just because I want to protect Christianity. But I think it is a historical question worth pursuing. with regards, headhunter525

I am with you but good luck with trying to win the one'ness group over. Its best to hit around the outside than try to debate doctrine. Everyone takes "me and my father are one" to be God on earth but it means one in purpose and spirit.

Jesus did not call himself a good. The only good is the God. He did not call himself also a God because there is only one GOD his father.
