Do you sprinkle sugar on top of your sugar cookies?

There is enough sugar IN the cookie. I frost mine. or sometimes I turn them into snickerdoodles but rolling them in cinnamon and sugar before I bake them.

"Plain" sugar cookies always have a sprinkling of sugar on top... the only way to make them... of course you can get fancy with sprinkles and icing... but I like mine the old fashioned way. Thanks Zelo

sometimes I frost them, and sometimes I sugar them. I am not crazy about sprinkles, so most of the time, I don't use those.

I usually make mine plain. Except on holidays, when I sprinkle the tops with a bit of colored sugar. I haven't made sugar cookies in awhile, you are tempting me! I don't like the sugar on top as much either, but I really hate frosted cookies so I never do that unless it was requested (and even then, I'll make half unfrosted for people who don't like frosting).

Hi luvstochat when I make sugar cookies I dont like to put anything on top of them. I do not like that grainy taste either. They are sweet enough for me.LOL

I don't bake sugar cookies. Can't say that I never have baked them before, but haven't in a very long time. I mostly buy them these days if I want sugar cookies. I am more of a frosting person for sugar cookies!
