I am having a chilly winter in England. I love it when I can escape the cold weather and go to a hot country. I have been to St Lucia in the Caribbean and saw palm fringed beaches and the aquamarine water was so warm. Do you like to travel to hot countries? What activities do you like to do there? Where would you go this winter if you could afford it?

I live in a tropical country...so naturally it is hot all year round... but it does get a little chilly between december to february... but then... most of the time... i would love to get away from the humidity and hot weather... and just try so very chilly winter... like in England or even Iceland... I have never seen snow... so i think experiencing it once will be very interesting...

I would love to live in a country that is warm all year round. I went to the Seychelles and the climate was delightful 24 degrees. Sydney is its autumn was 30 degrees but it gets cool there in its winter. I hope that you will visit England and feel the chilly weather. Iceland is about 12 degrees in its summer! It would be great for you to see snow.

I live in a hot climate, so one would think that I dont need to visit other hot countries. I have though. The hot countries I have visited are Bali, Singapore and Hong Kong. Actually they were much more humid that extreme temperatues. I guess I have more often visited cold countries. It is extreme today at 39 degrees & a hot north wind. Dangerous weather for bushfires. I am monitoring the country fire service website for updates.

Yes, I found Hong Kong and Singapore humid. Darwin felt hotter and it was very sticky indeed. It sounds incredibly hot in your homeland at the moment. I am sitting in cold and dark England with my central heating on right now. I hope that you will not get any bush fires in your area. Good luck.

The hot weather is different from the UK, here we have the humidity and not the dry heat that other countries are fortunate to have. I am more sensitive to the heat than the cold and because I have fair skin I do burn easily, so I prefer to go to hot countries out of season. Last year I went to Rhodes in October where it was a comfortable 80 degrees. Any hotter and for me it would be unbearable. I always like Cyprus and would love to go Turkey one day and hopefully New Zealand, not sure what the temperatures are like in New Zealand. But the Caribbean sounds wonderful especially this time of the year!

The Caribbean islands have a hot quite a hot and humid climate. New Zealand has similar weather to the UK but the seasons are opposite to ours: summer is December, January and February, whilst winter is June, July and August. Wearing sun cream is a good idea in the New Zealand summer. Greece, Turkey and Cyprus are delightfully warm in September and October. I am glad that you had a lovely time in Rhodes.

Hi Like you I live in England and boy has it been cold recently, lovely to have the sunshine today though. I spent Christmas in the Canaries one year which has sunshine all year round but I would have rather have been in England as it didn't feel like Christmas. For a holiday I would choose a hot climate rather han cold everytime and I am lucky that I have family who live in Spain so can get my fix of sun whenever I want, finances permitting for the flights really. Ellie :D

Yes, the Canary Islands are warm 20 plus degrees all year round. I went there one winter and it was sunny and warm. Today was cold with bright sunshine so that was lovely. You are lucky to have family living in Spain. I agree that Christmas overseas doesn't feel like Christmas. Christmas in Australia is in hot weather.

Hi there, i am actually a bigger fan of cold countries! I find that I am often a bit irritable and restless when hot and I find the cosyness of colder surroundings really nice! I am from England too, and love how chilly it is at the moment!

Hey Max! I live high up in the mountains, it's cold, very cold, and snowy six months of the year and the rest of the year it is very pleasant temperatures. So most of the places I have visited around the world have been at least a bit warmer to down-right hot! Tropical countries are the most extreme for me because not only are they much warmer than home, they are much more humid than the arid mountain west of the US. When I go on a journey I expect it to be hot and humid and plan for the weather difference. I do whatever the activities are in the country I visit. Most of the time that will include a lot of walking, some hiking and sometimes climbing. If I'm by an ocean I will be snorkeling or diving. I may rent a bicycle or go horseback riding (or camel, llama, elephant depending on where I am). Right now there's five feet of snow in my yard and I am thinking of packing up and heading to Mexico or Latin America ...or... who knows where if I find a screaming deal on a plane ticket!

Yes, I like going to the hot countries. Because I don't have to bring a lot of clothes, and you know it's quite troublesome for travel. And that means to say I can bring back more things from travel as my bag has more room. I like going to the beach and enjoy the tropical food.

Have you ever been to Indonesia?? it's really a wonderful country. We never have winter or summer...during the rainy seasons, we usually have alot of rains and during the dry season we have warm sunny days. it's not too hot though and the rain is not too thick. Please do come here, I guarantee you will love it. For me, as I never get winter, if I can afford it, I wish I could travel abroad to see the snow...

I don't like winter, and I would love to escape the cold weather of my own country. I always enjoy going to a hot country, but I can't afford travelling this year, so I'll have to wait. I don't really know where I would go if I could afford it, there are so many places and countries that I would like to visit, and it is really hard to choose

Hello, I'm in hot country. Do you know about Thailand. I think I like the winter, it may be I'm used to hot weather. Thailand is in the tropical rainy climate, so it's hot nearly all year. Thailand has three kinds of season; summer, rainy and winter, but I think winter is the best weather for three reasons. First, winter is good when you have remain food, and you want to keep it for eating on the next meal. This weather can make it to be rotten slowly. So you can surely eat it,although it's not to be warmed. Second, if you're the person who loves his health, it's suitable for you to do exercise and it's still cool. Finally, winter has fresh air. I love to travel in this weather, especially on the mountain in the dawn such as Phu Kra Cung National Park in Loei, Baan Pai Village in Mae Hong Son, Khao Yai National Park, Doi Inthanon, Doi Ang Khang and Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden in Chiang Mai. In the place, there're many kinds of plants in every where you wale by; moreover, when you get up early and walk to the outside, you can see some dew on the flowers. Ther're very beautiful and fantastic. In conclusion, winter is the best weather because it makes me feel good and satisfied of many things. I love it very much, and I always wait for coming winter every year.
