Don't you think, that love of a soldier for his country is most dedicated, unselfish and pure love. Great are soldiers who sacrifice all the pleasures of life for country and great are those mothers who gave birth to such respectful souls.
Let's make it a point to close our eyes and pray for them at least once a day........we owe them a lot........

You are very right.
I just stopped and said a prayer for all of them and their families. I do not know what I would do if I knew someone who was over there fighting for us. I would be so worried for them every day and I do not know if I could function daily not knowing if they are safe.
I wish the fighting and the war was over with.

The soldiers are definitely doing a wonderful job and most people hardly think of them except during Independance Day.
Even the families of such soldiers need to be saluted because they are bravely handling things on the home front all alone when they know that they cannot expect support from their spouses and they might even lose their loved one for the sake of the country.

Hi dear,
How are you. I will tell you the truth SV, I am also selfish, all these years, I was not so emotional about soldiers, but now after 1 year when my son will be 18, he will have to join army, because here army is compulsory for all children, no matter girls or boys...., jab apna bete ki bari ayi toh soilders ki importance ki yaad ayi.....how selfish na.........I wish world was full of peace and happiness only there were no wars or any kind of hatred.......why is life so hard SV........kabhi shaanti milti hi nahi..........lol

That is how life is Apsara...and if we don't have the hardships, how will we appreciate the good? We will take it for granted.
I actually wanted to marry someone who was in the defence force...because I knew I couldn't fight for the country...I atleast wanted to be part of it by marrying someone in the forces...that never got to be.
It will be hard for you when your son will be joining...lekin you have to be strong...because you know your son is going for a noble cause.
I haven't been around much because my older son fractured his leg and will be in the cast for 6 weeks atleast..and I was busy with that.

Apsara,
I think our soldiers deserve a lot more than they actually get. We are doing too little and too less. Only recently, on 26th Jan my eyes filled with moisture seeing the family taking the Chakras from the President..It was a touching moment for all of us. I started crying all of a sudden and felt like burst open the lid and do something. Now that 'something' is a vague thing and I could not really decide. However, we can do so many things in our own small ways. It could be including them in our prayers daily or reading a leaf out of their vast life in the school assembly. Just a moment of thought for them even if we cannot do anything substantial. They should get the message that we revere them more than anything else and they are the reasons why we live.
At the same time we should respect the families who have so selflessly send their son to the field! It requires a great deal of strength to accept it in the first place. Its for their sacrifice that we are secured, safe and alive!!
Apsara, I have high regards for you for posting this. Only recently in one of my discussions I was missing you badly for I always knew how passionate you are regarding this.
Thanks.

DD,
I know its very hard to let go of the most precious one in life but just have faith and be optimist. Optimism and good thinking, likeable association make a whole deal of difference. Having said this, I know its very difficult and when it comes to our own self things turn completely.
Apsara, accept the fact and that would be a first step towards the life you are going to live.
My wishes are there for you and your son.
Love and hugs.

Dear Mimpi,
How are you dear. Yes you are right, we are actually not doing anything for them. Even those who were given param veer chakras will be soon forgotten and the families will left alone with their sorrow and hardships. You know Mimpi, my son is now 17 and next year he will have to join army as army is compulsory here. Now you see what made me suddenly so concerned about soldiers.......I as so selfish mother.......we all are selfish until it falls on us......I hate myself for this.
I will look into your discussion soon.
Lots of love dear

i an relate to every sentence that you wrote here apsara, and i do think that we should, all of us, remember that the soldiers are the ones that are keeping us safe.
I can tell you that in my country every person that is 18 years old has to be in the army for 2-3 years in order to serve his country.
and we can never forget that, because we were there, we know the feeling, and we appreciate each and every one of them.
i wish all the best for your countries soldiers and for my countries soldiers.

dear Liranlgo, you did not notice that I am also from Israel and my son will be 18 next year. This pain and worry has forced me to start this discussion........I am worried all the time for all the young soldiers of Israel, who give their best years to army. My heart pains with grief for those who don't come back home......my tears don't stop.... what should I do......sometimes I don't understand .....Israel is blessed of cursed.........why should our dear children go through all this .......I cannot write any more.......
