Do you prefer aluminum foil or plastic wrap? Even when I buy the better brand plastic wrap I always have a problem with it. No matter how big a piece I use it always seems to end up with part of whatever I'm covering still being exposed. I've tried buying the really cheaper brand and going overboard in wrapping food but eventually that seems to just fall off and the food gets ruined. I'm not crazy about aluminum foil because it tends to stick to meat and other things when it freezes and I also notice a slight aluminum taste to the food it was covering. Which do you think is the best and which do you prefer?

Neither because both tend to stick to the items so I use either freezer bags or a container. I like the bags better for it's easier to make room in the freezer for it and everything else that's in there. lol

I use aluminum foil mainly because it is easier. I do not find that it alters the taste of the meat at all. I have seen the foil stick, but only when the meat is not fully defrosted. I really prefer the freezer paper, but I always forget to buy it. What I have been trying to do is go to a butcher to get my meat and asking them to wrap up the meat in the portions I want them in. That way I can just pop them in the freezer when I get home

I always separate my meat and wrap it in plastic wrap and then put it in freezer bags. Its a pain sometimes to do it that way but I can fix as much or as little as I need that way and don't have to thaw out a huge package of something when there's just the two of us. I also make up hamburger patties and freeze them the same way. I don't buy the cheap plastic wrap anymore because it isn't as effective for longer periods of storage. I have had meat last up to 2yrs doing it that way.

Well I always use plastic wrap and it sticks for me and then after I have wrapped it up it goes into the freezer bags and then into the freezer. LOL!!! I have tried using wax paper also Yuck is all I can say it's a pain in the but. I think that next time I'm going to pay the extra money to have it wrapped by they butcher.

I buy freezer bags and then there is no problem with any part being exposed. I like the zip top ones the best because they are easier to open and close. I used to do the same as you, and use foil and/or plastic wrap, but now I don't bother with all the trouble of wrapping it. The price of freezer bags isn't very expensive, especially if you buy them at the dollar store. You get a box of 6 large or 8 medium or 10 small ones, for a dollar. I buy all my meat in family packs so I need to have a good way to freeze them and so I find the bags the easiest way.

I've found that the best way to preserve food in the freezer is in plastic containers. I prefer those contatniors over aluminum foil and plastic wrap. I would rather just seal it up in a plastic container.

I always wrap my food in cling film, always have. The best way I'd say though is to buy yourself a vacuum packager if you can afford it. It keeps things fresh twice as long and stops freezer burn.

I always use zip lock bags. Not just freezer bags but also cheaper sandwich bags for small items.

Neither... For the freezer I always use Ziploc Freezer Bags. In the fridge I use plastic wrap and when I am taking food out somewhere then I use tin foil :) ~Heavens~

If I buy some meat that is already prepackaged. I will extra wrap it in plastic wrap. Other than that I will buy freezer zip lock bags to put my food in. Its much more sturdier and designed to with stand the cold.

When i buy hamburger in a say 6 lbs package we split it and wrap each lbs up in seran wrap. My parents have a food sealer and use it for everything they freeze and the food stay good much longer cuz there is no air touching it. It sucks all the air out. I would reccomend that.

I use Glad Bags or Ziplock Bags and I will wash them out and reuse them. I also use the Glad Press and Seal for freezers that is handy for odd sized pieces. I do not think plastic wrap is good for the freezer unless it says so and you have to wrap it around more than twice and also from both ends. I hardly use aluminum foil unless it is to cover something up to prevent it from browning too soon or as pie plates that I will be throwing away. You have to read the labels to see if it works.

I am a gallon and quart size freezer bag kind of person. I like the simplness of it all. I don't like the fact that foil rips and smells funny. It also sticks to the food in places. The plastic wrap...don't get me started there. LOL My hardest thing with that is ripping off of the roll. That is why I switched to the freezer bags. I do own a vaccuum sealer machine, but the bags are so expensive. I am currently saving for those right now. LOL

You might consider using freezer paper, ctry. I've never used it, but I am told it is very good for protecting your food. Most of the time I use the large bags for larger items and the smaller ones for small items.

I don't used aluminum foil or plastic wrap coz sometimes it getting teared up and getting stick on the iced. I used microwavable plastic container with cover or container that will not stick onto he fridge it is very convienient and safe and can be used again.

I personally use freezer bags or small tub containers to freeze food, these tubs are ideal as you can measure individual portions in the smaller ones and stack really easily. Ellie :D
