Strawberries are pretty expensive around here lately. I saw a quart for over $4 the other day. That is just way too much money to be spending on strawberries. I bought my daughter some freeze dried strawberries a few weeks ago instead of fresh. They are one of her favorite snacks now. They are really good. I used some of them to make a strawberry syrup to go on our French toast. It was very good. Have you had them? Do you eat any freeze dried fruit?

Oooh. I love strawberries, so do my kids. Will have to look for those. Strawberry prices are so outrageous. Used to be able to buy a half flat for $4-5 now you can only get 2 Lbs for that price. sheez! And yes I used to eat a whole half flat by myself, but back when I was in high school. ((grin)) So do you eat them still dry? or add water? or both? Weight Watchers used to (many years ago) have a dried apple snack. And they had strawberry flavor. Those were really good. Haven't seen anything like them in quite a while. -Tink

strawberries in cereal - freeze dried strawberries come to life with a little milk
I could look for these. It would be good to add to cereal. The only freeze dried strawberries we've had were in some cereal we bought a while ago. These little red lumps turned into strawberry pieces after the milk was added. The guys here actually liked them. You never know around here. Can't remember the name, but will get it again if it goes on sale. ...whit
