LOL terry, I"m too late to give any original advice so I decided to just ask: SO did it come out ? WHich process did you use? Hope that your carpet is wax free now and that it looks just as it was before the "accident" Hugs

It should work. I tried both the iron and the wax and had more luck with the iron. I guess it depends on the carpet too. Keep us posted, now we would like to know how it worked. Lucky it isn't in the living room, that would make things more complicated - it would really have to work perfectly as opposed to just good LOL

The suggestion has probably already been given, I haven't read all your replies... but, I would suggest using a blow dryer - set it on high and blow as close as you can to the wax area - when it is soft enough, peel it off.

I am responding from my e-mail, but in case no one mentions this. get some ice and place it over the spot..When nice and cold, take a butter knife and scrape what you can, hopefully all of it will come off..If there is a stain, use a little liquid laundry detergent on it and spot clean it..

Hello, unfortantly i dont have any idea in getting out wax in a carpet. But I have done that before at my moms. I picked up her candle and boom on the floor. She just left the spot there. Have you ever thought of burning a water based candle. I sell a candle that is made out of soy, and you can clean it right up if it is dropped on the carpet. And they smell so good. There even tripple scented. Good luck in getting that wax up. I heard putting paper towel on it and heating it with a iron. By all means please let us mylotters know how it went. So when someone else dropps one we know how to clean it up.

What a mess. I know how you feel as I've done this before and what I used was my fingernail to scrape it. I did find an article that might help you. http://www.essortment.com/all/removewaxcar_rdwg.htm Hope this works. Have a good day, carolbee

iron - image of iron
Take tick paper towel or paper (clean) and place it on your carpet. Warm your iron and very gentle press the iron on your carpet. Wax should soak into paper. good luck Hugs

Yea like most of the other respondie's have suggested, the wax paper and something obsorbant between the wax paper and the carpet with the iron to heat up the wax should do the trick. It may take a little while, but you will get it all out eventually ;)

There are a couple of methods you should try sweety and both are very similar to what you do with chewing gum! The first one is to get brown paper over the carpet and place a hot iron over where the candle wax spilled! You may have to repeat this a few times but the wax will be absorbed by the brown paper and eventually it will all come good! I have used this method several times and know it works. The second is to use ice to harden any wax and try and scrape it off when set very hard. I have been assured this works though I have never tried it and am slightly skeptical about just how good it is! Good Luck my friend! xxx

Since it has hardened by now why not just take a pair of tweezers and pick it out. Have you tried anything like that, just pick it out? I don't know for sure that that would work, but I would think so, so maybe give it a try. I don't know of any product to use that would wash it out since it has hardened. Please try it and let me know if it works or if you have found another way to get it out.

Dont know if this helps but when i was in church, we were a few left after fridday nights activites. We had some candles burning on a tray, and we didnt notice it for a while, that candle wax had been pouring onto the thick rug the tray was on. Instead of trying to take it away immediately we let it harden, making it much easier to remove. It hardly left anything that could show it had been candle wax there. This was on a thick rug that isnt hairy, or whatever you call it.

Hello TerryZ! They say to remove wax from a container, the easiest process is to stick it in the freezer, it will pull away from the container itself. Maybe you can try ice on it. *shrugs* I'm not real sure on carpet. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.

Put ice on it, then scrape with a butter knife or plastic scraper to get as much out as you can. Then lay a torn-open paper bag over it and iron out the rest of the wax... just make sure the iron isn't too hot, or the carpet could melt or scorch. This works for almost everything you get candle wax on, so don't cut anything... you'll be really unhappy if you do, and THEN read this!!

You are supposed to make the wax heated then you might get it off form your carpet. Just try it.
