Buttercups under your chin

When I was a kid my parents told me that if you held a buttercup under someone's chin & could see yellow reflected there then it meant that they liked butter.
Now I'm an adult I still can't help myself from picking buttercups when I see them & holding them under people's chins! My friends are all used to me now, but new people seem to think I'm barmy.
What do you think? Is it an understandable flaw in an otherwise sane person, brought on by being lied to by parents at an early and impressionable age? Or just plain barmy?
:-)

Well then we're both balmy.
I haven't seen buttercups in ages, but I'd probably do it too. I remember those times fondly.

omg! i had totally forgotten about that! oh, and blowing on dandelion fluff and however many stuck on was the number of kids you were going to have? yeah, i guess we were told a lot of things growing up. i say good on ya for keeping the great tradition alive! some things are just inexplicable. it's not scientific, but it works, right? doesn't it? it's been a long time since i checked. think i will this summer, thanks for reminding me...i'll have to check my niece and nephews too! lol!
