Easter Gifts $299.00 shipping!!! / myLot

I love www.hearthsong.com 's products... they are wholesome and interesting. I was going to purchase a few things as gifts for my daughters but found the shipping was not to my liking. So, a few more days pass and I get an email advertising $2.99 shipping in honor of leap day (Feb 29) so I quickly got my order in to take advantage of such a savings. I got my order 2 days ago - looked through the box... everything was there... nice! I do not usually spend so much on Easter presents but I got the pysanka set for my eldest daughter - she is so creative and I thought I would like to try it myself... anyhow the order came close to $50 in products... imagine my surprise when I look at the invoice and the total cost said $349!!! WHAT? they charged me $299.00 in shipping instead of $2.99 what about those poor folks who do not scrutinize their invoices.... sheesh .... did I pay for an armored truck delivery? Has anything like this happened to you before, do share!

what is a pysanka set? that sounds quite interesting! i work at a place that ships stuff out and we tend to under charge instead of over charging...what did you do? did you call the company?

it is an egg decorating kit - for the ukranian style of easter eggs... very beautiful. I did not like the isntructions that came with the kit - for beginning use but I ordered the children's book on how to - and it is a wonderful book $8.95 Yes, I called the company - the service rep thought it was really funny, funnier than I did anyhow. hehe.
