Teenaged Mother gives Cocaine to Children

Apparently, this 17 yr old mother brought her 2 yr old child into the emergency room, because the child was having seizures. They tested the child's blood, and they found crack cocaine in the child's system. Then they tested the woman's neice and nephew (they are 2 and 3) and sure enough, crack cocaine in their systems as well.
Originally the woman said they must have gotten it at her neighbor's. Then she admitted that she had bought 24 rocks of cocaine, intending to sell it. She says the kids got some off of the plate.
What are your thoughts on this? I think she should go to jail for a very long time! This is horrid!

I think it just proves that some people need to pass a test in order to have childen. I think she should definetly do jail time. if they kids accidentally got some I guess that is atleast a little bit better than the thought of her giving it to them. I hope that steps will atleast be taken to make sure the children are all safe.

Jail time is a definite in my mind. Yes she is young, but she needs to learn just how bad the situation is. Irresponisibility is one thing, but even having it in the house is endangerment.

I think she definitly does not deserve to have care of her 2 yr old now. From what that other lady told us was that she was a good mother and provided for her child all the time, sure that's great, but she's going to have a hard lesson to learn now.
There's a fine line between having fun and addiction and having children around is not good at all!
It's a God send that they did find out she did this because if she wouldn't have done that then she probably still would be doing it now and getting away with it. I feel bad for those kids

The question is why is this woman doing such a stupid thing? I realize that she may be desperate, but now the government will come and take her kids and she'll go jail and never see them again (as they'll probably be adopted someone else).

It kills me that a mother would want to do anything to endanger their children, but honestly I think some people lack that instinct. Well I would indeed say she needs her kids taken away. This is so sad for these kids because this could really affect them in the future , espically with trust, I have a friend that when he was a kid his mom had something similar going on , now hes scared of commitment etc. I agree some sort of jail time should have to be served.

That's absolutely terrible!!! I can't believe that someone would ever do that. What the h3ll was that woman even thinking? She shouldn't have had it in the first place, but it's even worse that it was out where childen, hers and omeone else's, I don't care whose children, could get their hands on it...not just children but other people. What a stupid thing for that woman to allow to happen.

Like I said in my last post about a man killing his baby. There should be a screening to determine whether the person should be allowed to produce children. There needs to be laws because of ridiculous stuff like this. I agree with you totally, she should go to jail, she should be put in a program to learn about life, the sentence should be severe, but most likely it won't. I mean heck, for murder any more you can get a minimum of 22 years. I think that is ridiculous.

You are so right. It's one thing if you want to mess your own life up, but don't mess with innocent children. What is this world coming to??
I hope she gets a long sentence and has her children taken away.

We are on the same page. It is a sad state of affairs when we become used to the fact that parents are doing these horrible things to their children. Something needs to be done.

WOAH this is terrible. I cant beleive that a mother would give their children cocain!! Especially at the age of 2! But what if she is right that they took some themselves? I mean why would she give 2 and 3 year olds cocain? Plus it must have cost loads. I still think she should go to jail though.

Regardless of if she put it in their mouths herself, or she just left it where they could get to it, she is endangering her child and her niece and nephew. It probably was accidental that they got it, but the fact that she left it for them to get, is inexcusable.

Well that is a aweful story, she is very lucky she did not kill her child, or her neice and nephew for that matter. I hope she does get help, she is very young, but she should not get her child back. At leaste not for a long time. I am sure she is looking at some jail time, and hopefuly they will get her help for her addictions as well.

17 yrs old and has a two year old herself?
And watching 2 and 3 yr old niece and nephew? Where were the other parents?
And while I know kids can be inquisitive, how in the heck did all three of them ingest this without spitting it out? Wouldn't it taste nasty? (I've never done that sort of thing so I haven't a clue, just an assumption on my part).
Something sounds fishy to me. Either way, she needs help.

This is so sad!imo she should definitely be locked up a while and forced to go to rehab.I am unable to have children of my own and feel very sad that some ppl who are blessed with children act so irresponsible.Thank god they did not overdose.I hope this woman gets her priorities together.Please keep us informed of any new info on this story.
