I had never had bacon cooking in the oven until this morning at my brothers house. It was pretty good. I always cook mine in a skillet on the stove top or in the microwave. Most of the time it is cooked on the stove top while I am cooking the rest of my breakfast.

Actually I have made it in the ovens on several different occasions and it seems the bacon is straighter and crispier when I do. And it can be in the oven cooking in a pan along side the biscuits while your making the gravy, eggs or whatever you decide to make with it. And no turning it is a plus.

If I bake it in the oven I use a cookie cooling rack and put the bacon on it. That lets a lot of grease drip away from it. The only time I cook it like that is when I am planning on chopping it up and putting it in the fridge for salads or a pizza topping. It does turn out crispy that way so if you like soft bacon that's not the best way to go.

In my family, growing up, the old splatter the stove with grease was commonly employed. This was followed by some contraptions do help cook bacon in the microwave.

I don't think I would cook bacon in the oven. you really would still have a mess only it would be in the oven and the oven is much harder to clean up than the stove top is. Unless you cover the cooking bacon in the oven wouldn't you get just as many spatters.

I have done this a couple of times but I always end up burning it in the end. I just do mine on the stove top. It is still a pain but at least I don't make as big of a mess as I do in the oven.

I don't cook bacon too often anymore, but normally I use my griddle and do several things at once.
I've done it in the oven a few times, though, and it really does come out good, and you don't have to keep turning it, etc.
